Job DescriptionBecause this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
We are seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to join our team dedicated to the development of military GPS and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) products for the airborne and maritime market spaces.
This is an ideal role for an early-career engineer looking to grow their expertise in a high-impact environment. You will play a key role in advancing next-generation navigation solutions, including the Maritime and Aviation Receiver Card (MAVRC) and the Joint Precision Approach and Landing Systems (JPALS), as well as contribute to the development of industry-leading anti-jam technologies such as DIGAR™. Working under the guidance of senior engineering leadership, you will help ensure our products are reliable, high-performing, and developed through a disciplined systems engineering process.
In this role, you will contribute to the Systems Engineering V-Model-assisting with requirements decomposition, supporting system integration, and helping execute verification and validation activities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of software, RF, and hardware engineers to help move advanced PNT solutions from the lab to the warfighter.
The RoleAs a Systems Engineer, you will provide technical support across the product development lifecycle. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Requirements Support: Assist in the analysis and decomposition of system-level requirements into detailed technical specifications for software and hardware.
- Systems Integration: Support the integration of real-time embedded systems in a lab environment, helping to ensure hardware and software components work together seamlessly.
- Verification & Testing: Help create system test plans and procedures. Assist in executing tests and documenting results to verify that product performance meets customer requirements.
- Digital Tool Utilization: Utilize requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and explore the use of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to document system behavior.
- Technical Documentation: Assist in the creation of system specifications, interface control documents, and technical reports.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work within a multi-disciplinary team to understand customer needs and support the implementation of technical solutions.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related).
- Technical Aptitude: Fundamental understanding of systems engineering principles (e.g., the V-model, requirements traceability, and system integration).
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders in a professional environment.
- Security: Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance.
Preferred Skills and Education- Digital Engineering: Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or SysML.
- Domain Interest: A functional interest or foundational knowledge in GPS, RF systems, or PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) solutions.
- Certification Awareness: Basic familiarity with airborne product requirements or development standards (e.g., DO-178 or DO-254).
- Tool Proficiency: Exposure to MATLAB, Python, or requirements management software (DOORS).
- Clearance: Currently hold an active US Government Secret security clearance.
- Applied AI: Ability to leverage generative AI tools to enhance or automate engineering tasks.
