What you’ll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s Enterprise Endpoint Compute team, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the configuration and automated deployment of Windows operating systems and applications for endpoints. You’ll provide advanced Windows support in day-to-day operations, including troubleshooting and remediating operating system configuration and deployment-related issues. You’ll analyze and resolve Windows OS and application issues, remediate vulnerabilities, and support endpoint provisioning and upgrades. You’ll participate in technical incident bridges, coordinate efforts across teams, and communicate technical issues using executive-level language when required. You’ll analyze incident history and operational trends to determine actionable insights and improvements. You’ll contribute to maintaining a stable, secure, and scalable endpoint environment across the enterprise.

How you’ll succeed

  • Understanding Requirements - You track and analyze the endpoint operating environment for assigned services, implement corrective actions as needed, and work with clients and internal partners to manage service expectations and outcomes.
  • Accuracy & Quality - You investigate and resolve Windows OS and application issues accurately, ensuring vulnerabilities are remediated, configurations are stable, and fixes are implemented correctly in production environments.
  • Analytical Thinking - You analyze incidents, logs, and system behavior to determine root causes, assess risk and severity, and recommend appropriate remediation or improvement actions.
  • Collaboration - You work closely with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to coordinate incident response, participate in technical bridges, and support enterprise endpoint initiatives.
  • Consistency - You help maintain reliable endpoint operations by supporting standardized deployment, patching, and remediation practices, contributing to reduced repeat incidents and improved stability.
  • Continuous Learning - You continuously evolve your technical knowledge of Windows endpoints, deployment methodologies, and automation practices to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate a minimum of 5+ years of experience. supporting Windows endpoints in an enterprise environment, including endpoint incident support and triage, troubleshooting Windows operating systems and components, vulnerability remediation, operating system deployment and in-place upgrades, driver and firmware updates, and automation or scripting using PowerShell (and VBS). You bring experience supporting application deployments and working with common desktop software, directory services, and endpoint configuration tools. It’s an asset if you have experience with VDI provisioning technologies (such as Citrix Director or VMware vSphere), Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, or other endpoint management platforms.
