Your role
Do you have a strong trading / technology / analytical background with in-depth knowledge of equity markets and market micro-structure?
UBS is looking for an Electronic Agency Algorithmic Trader to:
• manage the quantitative parameters that drive the overall algorithmic behavior
• provide daily interaction with the equity trading desks, quantitative analysts, and clients to adjust parameters on the back of stock specific news and in advance of special event days to ensure algorithm behavior is aligned with client and market expectations
• apply client specific configuration that enhance client/algorithm specific behavior, manage and prioritize product enhancements, risk management, and conduct data driven analysis to automate and optimize the trading platform and workflows
• manage releases and custom algorithm solutions and provide Real Time management of trading risk and intraday monitoring of the algorithms across all business types, products, and clients
• be responsible for direct interaction with the developers and quantitative analysts surrounding improvement to the algorithmic products including analytics and research
• interact with execution consultants who work directly with external clients to optimize and improve trading experience with UBS
• act as an electronic trading subject matter expertise with ability to serve as real time source of information to users of electronic trading product both internally & externally
Your team
The algorithmic trading team is responsible for risk management, product management, execution consulting, and product knowledge expert for anything related to electronic/algorithmic trading/ low latency trading across global markets in the Americas. The algorithmic trading team works across a wide range of UBS stakeholders including: Sales & Coverage / Sector Traders / Technology & Support / QAD, & Legal/Compliance. Your role will be in our New York office.
Your expertise
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, math, computer science, or a related field
• strong Technical Skills: preferably Kdb+/Q, Python, & Unix
• ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment with ability to think on feet and solve real time problems
• ideally 3 + years experience producing analytics and reports to monitor and benchmark trading performance across the platform and for individual clients
• ideally 3+ years experience with the creation of differentiated content relevant to electronic trading clients
• Series 7 and 63 would be nice to have
Salary information
The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:
• United States - New York - New York min USD 145000 - max USD 172500 /annum
