Job Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Hardware Engineering
General Summary:The primary responsibility of the position is to perform 3D electromagnetic simulations to support an EMC/Regulatory engineering lead for new technology development, prototype and commercial WWAN devices. The engineer must have the ability to resolve complex EM structures into simplified models and to condense complex simulation results into design guidelines. The candidate shall also be responsible for coming up with new measurement setups to validate the simulation results. In this regard, the engineer is expected to have a solid theoretical knowledge in electromagnetic theory, transmission lines, computational electromagnetics, antennas and EMC design. The job will largely focus on design input based on EMC/RF exposure theoretical analysis and simulation data. In addition the engineer will be responsible for supporting external customers with EMC/regulatory design challenges for products based on Qualcomm chipsets.
Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
