Full Job Description
We are looking for an Electrochemical Sensor Engineer to join our Anaheim R&D group and advance the design, performance, quality, and manufacturability of complex electrochemical sensors. In this role, you will collaborate across engineering, production, quality, customer service, and international teams to move sensor concepts from development through successful manufacturing support.

What is the role about?
Are you energized by solving complex electrochemical sensor challenges? Do you enjoy transforming experimental findings into reliable, manufacturable products? Can you lead cross-functional development work while supporting production and field performance? This Anaheim-based R&D role brings those opportunities together, giving you the chance to shape electrochemical sensor technology while partnering with mechanical engineers, technicians, production and quality personnel, customer service, vendors, and international colleagues.

Which tasks will you perform?
You will:
• Design and redesign electrochemical sensors, components, and subassemblies to meet customer needs while improving quality, reliability, and cost.
• Define requirements for sensor components, electrolytes, and test methods, then plan, perform, analyze, and document evaluation testing.
• Manage R&D projects with cross-functional and international teams in accordance with Endress+Hauser procedures, including transferring developed prototypes into manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot production issues, support corrective and preventive actions, and evaluate engineering change requests related to sensor design and production.
• Perform failure analysis on sensors that fail in field applications or final product testing, prepare and present findings, and recommend practical solutions.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in manufacturing procedures, drawings, bills of materials, routers, and work instructions.
• Conduct technology and patent evaluations, submit invention disclosures when appropriate, and drive continuous product improvements.
• Support other departments, vendor and sub-supplier evaluations, product or technology transfer, field testing, and on-site problem solving, including occasional travel to Germany and customer locations.

What do we expect from you?
You:
• Hold a bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree or PhD is preferred.
• Bring at least five years of experience in electrochemical sensor development, engineering, and manufacturing; experience in electrochemistry and materials characterization & testing is preferred.
• Possess solid knowledge of electrochemical measurement principles, sensor design, chemistry, electrochemistry, and applicable standards.
• Are proficient in experimental design, data processing, data analysis, materials characterization and testing, and technical presentation.
• Understand laboratory and materials testing requirements, chemical hazards and safety procedures, equipment calibration and maintenance, and sensor production troubleshooting.
• Apply project management best practices and demonstrate strong execution when leading cross-functional teams.
• Understand mechanical design principles and can collaborate with mechanical engineers to translate concepts into detailed designs.
• Communicate effectively in English, work well across teams, use Microsoft Office applications proficiently, and can occasionally lift and carry up to 35 lbs independently.

What can you expect from us?
• Family-owned, highly committed global company with a sustainable vision of the future.
• Lifelong learning encouraged by versatile training, tuition reimbursement, success coaching, and further education opportunities.
• Comprehensive benefit package (to include medical, dental, vision) and 401(k) savings with company match.
• Compensation is competitive and includes bonus opportunities.
• Work-life balance encouraged through our 10 company-paid holidays, paid time off, paid parental leave, employee assistance programs (financial, mental, and physical health and wellbeing), and employee discounts.
• Employees work in a safety-first, climate controlled, clean manufacturing facility with utilization of Lean practices and ergonomic workstations to enhance productivity and comfort.
