Responsibilities

  • Use tools such as testing meters and soldering irons for fault identification and repairs.
  • Install and program programmable logic controllers, including Allen Bradley and GE Fanuc systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian Electrical Code and CSA standards during installations and repairs.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment maintained.

Salary Details

The salary range for this position is CAD $42.59/Hr. - CAD $42.59/Hr.

Job Summary

Performs skilled electrical work in the installation, testing, repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment, microprocessor based systems, controls, circuitry and components, including high voltage equipment of up to 12000 volts, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and the Canadian Standards Association standards using tools such as testing meters, conduit benders, drills, saws, soldering irons and a variety of hand tools such as screwdrivers and pliers. Installs, programs, repairs and maintains a variety of programmable logic controllers such as the Allen Bradley SLC 500, the GE Fanuc/Cimplicity and Modicon systems.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Grade 10 plus two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of B.C.

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
