Position OverviewThe Electrical Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering electrical projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, strong leadership capabilities, and financial management skills to ensure successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Expertise- Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and codes to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve technical challenges and optimize system performance.
- Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and conduct inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
Leadership & Team Management- Lead cross-functional project teams, including electricians, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Develop project schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
- Mentor and coach team members, promoting professional growth and technical excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing clear communication and managing expectations.
Financial & Business Acumen- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability.
- Analyze financial reports and implement corrective actions to maintain budget compliance.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to optimize cost efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in electrical project management within commercial or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and financial tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience with energy efficiency projects or renewable energy systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems for financial tracking and reporting.
