  • Participates in HAZOP and LOPA reviews, promoting safety and environmental compliance

Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated, team-oriented individual to provide project management and Electrical & Instrument technical engineering services for a refinery process operations team. Projects include small capital and expense projects needed to properly maintain and optimize existing operating units. Projects typically range in size from $20,000 - $5,000,000. Management of multiple projects concurrently is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Applies project management skills across all phases: development, justification, design, construction, and start-up
  • Manages multiple projects/programs safely, efficiently, and within budget; develops strategies to meet schedules and mitigate delays.
  • Ensures compliance with Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Information (PSI), and mechanical integrity documentation.
  • Coordinates project specific work with in-house designers and outside engineering consultants to complete projects and studies cost-effectively.
  • Develops and/or defines scope, cost estimates, and schedules for capital and expense projects; prepares Decision Support Packages (DSPs) and presents to leadership for small capital and expense projects.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders including Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams to support planning and execution.
  • Develops and reviews construction packages to ensure new installations meet MPC and all applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Responsible for specifying Electrical & Instrumentation engineered material for assigned projects.
  • Confers with management and project stakeholders throughout a project life cycle
  • Interacts daily with project team members developing and executing project objectives.
  • Providing Electrical & Instrument technical support on multi-discipline projects.
  • Providing Electrical & Instrument support, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills for refinery process operations teams.
  • Participates in area HAZOP and LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis) reviews and incident investigations; applies safety and environmental standards to designs
  • Provides E&I assistance to the Operations Area Teams during process unit Turnarounds.
  • Promotes safety awareness and takes corrective action when unsafe practices or conditions are observed.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience with process measurement and control, instrument equipment, safety instrumented system (SIS) design, electrical area classification, management of change (MOC) processes, and industry standards (NFPA, ISA, IEEE, NEMA, API, etc.).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Electrical degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years or more of industry experience required. Five (5) years or more of industry experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
