Full Job Description
SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental (SSE) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron (50 CES) at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB), Colorado.

The Electrical Engineer will provide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of facility and infrastructure projects supporting military missions and real property assets. The position will support planning, design, programming, construction, and facility operations activities for new construction, renovations, improvements, and complex utility systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide electrical engineering support for facility and infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction and project completion.
  • Develop and review design calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, technical drawings, specifications, Statements of Work (SOWs), and other project documentation.
  • Support new construction, renovation, and improvement projects involving real property facilities and complex utility systems.
  • Review project submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), design packages, SOWs, and other technical documentation and provide recommendations for Government review and approval.
  • Conduct field investigations, site surveys, facility assessments, and inspections to validate project requirements and existing conditions.
  • Develop SOW packages and provide recommendations regarding project requirements and constructability.
  • Support construction surveillance and provide technical guidance to resolve on-site issues.
  • Review change orders and provide technical recommendations regarding proposed project changes.
  • Support project planning, programming, budgeting, and execution by evaluating project validity, feasibility, cost, schedule, and environmental impacts.
  • Develop Government cost estimates and support facility and infrastructure funding requirements.
  • Support facilities operations and maintenance activities, including development of long-range infrastructure priorities and facility assessments.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, planners, contracting personnel, tenant organizations, and external construction agents, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and NAVFAC.
  • Support multidisciplinary project coordination and design charrettes.
  • Utilize CAD, GIS, and other Government-approved engineering and modeling software to collect, evaluate, and analyze facility and infrastructure data.
  • Apply applicable Federal, state, local, Department of the Air Force, and U.S. Space Force engineering, construction, health, safety, and environmental requirements throughout project development and execution.

  • Ability to review construction submittals, RFIs, design documents, and change-order packages and provide sound technical recommendations.
  • Proficiency in automated data processing, program planning, and budgeting processes, including financial control systems used to manage project resources and schedules.
  • Ability to conduct and document detailed site and facility surveys and inspections.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and develop timely and economical engineering solutions.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required installation and restricted-area access.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant electrical engineering experience.

Relevant experience must demonstrate:
  • Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices, with familiarity with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering and construction standards, contracting regulations, health and safety requirements, and environmental laws.
  • Experience with automated data processing, program planning, budgeting cycles, and financial control systems.
  • Skill in functional design techniques, drafting, and preparation of complete project documentation, including preliminary sketches and final construction drawings.
  • Ability to conduct detailed site and facility surveys and inspections and apply the results to recommend timely and economical engineering solutions.

Work Location:
  • Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  • Position supports the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron and requires coordination with Government personnel, engineers, architects, planners, contracting personnel, tenant organizations, construction contractors, and external agencies.
  • Work is primarily performed on-site at Schriever Space Force Base. Remote/telework is not anticipated.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform desk work for extended periods, including sitting and using a computer.
  • Ability to conduct field investigations, facility surveys, and project-site visits as required.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and navigate active facility and construction environments.

Work Environment:
  • Work will be performed in both office and active construction/facility environments.
