About the RoleBase is seeking a EH&S Engineer to support our field operations teams in Texas. As an EHS Engineer, you will perform hazard assessments, incident investigations, work through employees' safety concerns and issues, as well as strategize with site leaders to prevent/reduce injuries. In addition, you will ensure environmental compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements applicable to these departments.
What You'll Do- Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by Texas Health and Safety Codes, OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH
- Collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures
- Execute industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts against associated human health thresholds
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and implement machine guarding when needed
- Complete and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification audits
- Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes, corrective actions and preventive measures
- Develop safety solutions to resolve EHS hazards/ concerns within cost and schedule constraints following a safety order of precedence to include elimination, substitution, engineering controls, work practice controls, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure that safety of personnel, property, and the environment are within acceptable risk boundaries
- Responsible for hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineering
- 3+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to research and apply the best industrial and working practices to provide effective services
- Knowledge of process safety management methods, pressure systems, and chemical delivery systems
- Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations
- Experience with emergency response communication and incident management in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and water
