Job Summary
The Downstream Business Release Manager will lead the planning, governance, coordination, and execution of business releases within a large-scale digital transformation program. The role will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, operations, project teams, and technology organizations to align release scope, priorities, schedules, and deployment activities with business objectives. The Release Manager will drive release readiness, facilitate decision-making, manage risks and dependencies, support operational readiness and deployment, and ensure successful business adoption and realization of business benefits while minimizing operational disruption.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end planning, governance, coordination, and execution of business releases.
• Develop and manage release plans and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Coordinate business scope, priorities, release schedules, and deployment activities.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, operations, project teams, and technology organizations.
• Drive stakeholder alignment and governance across Downstream business organizations.
• Facilitate release readiness activities and decision-making processes.
• Identify, manage, and communicate release risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Coordinate operational readiness activities and provide deployment support.
• Ensure cross-functional teams are aligned on release requirements, timelines, and responsibilities.
• Support successful business adoption and realization of expected business benefits.
• Minimize operational disruption during deployment and business transition activities.
• Coordinate release activities across multiple business and technology teams within a large-scale transformation program.
Required Qualifications
• 12-18+ years of experience in business release management, deployment leadership, program delivery, or related disciplines.
• Strong experience with release planning and roadmap management.
• Strong experience managing business scope, priorities, and release schedules.
• Proven stakeholder alignment, governance, and cross-functional coordination experience.
• Strong risk and dependency management experience.
• Experience driving operational readiness and deployment activities.
• Experience coordinating across multiple Downstream business organizations and technology teams.
• Demonstrated ability to drive business adoption and realization of business benefits.
• Strong communication, facilitation, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage complex releases and minimize operational disruption during deployments.
• Must have experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on technical experience.
• Experience with SAP.
