In addition to overseeing warehousing and distribution, this role also provides leadership for our AOG and Transportation functions. You'll guide teams responsible for rapid response and material availability during aircraft-on-ground events, leveraging procurement, sourcing, and critical thinking to resolve urgent requirements. You'll also oversee the transportation of a wide range of aircraft parts across the network, ensuring effective coordination with logistics partners and service providers to meet operational needs.

  • Leads and serves a large and complex organization through management leaders, individual contributors, and front-line team members
  • Partners with Tech Ops production teams and support teams to achieve operational goals
  • Leverages performance data to establish performance goals and motivate team members to improved performance
  • Analyzes and improves processes to improve performance and reduce variability
  • Ensures the successful execution of materials receiving, warehousing, and shipping functions across the system of stores and distribution locations.
  • Oversees and manages the flow of parts to all maintenance hubs, bases and stations to maintain targeted inventory levels and meet planned and unplanned demand
  • Ensures materials receiving activities conform to and align with FAA standards and American Airline policies
  • Ensures compliance with government regulatory agencies relative to the import/export of materials
  • Prioritizes and ensures compliance to all AA safety practices and policies and seeks opportunities to improve the level of safety in our work environment
  • Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement; provides recommendations and implements initiatives to increase revenue, reduce cost, gain efficiencies, and improve customer service and employee experience
  • Demonstrates and cultivates collaborative relationships across all work groups and teams


All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Planning or related area preferred
  • 7 years of leadership experience at the manager level or above, in an area related to supply chain, warehouse distribution and logistics, service parts industry, or technical operations
  • 7 years of leadership experience in a large and high-volume warehouse environment, including settings with warehouse automation
  • 7 years of experience managing a large frontline workgroup

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • In-depth knowledge of the airline industry and technical operations, American Airlines (AA) business strategy, company policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements or equivalent work experience
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management systems / warehouse control systems
  • Experience leading Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Extensive experience implementing procedures and ensuring consistent service delivery
  • Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and integrity
  • Ability to influence others through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to advocate and manage change and to productively and proactively adjust to dynamic situations
  • Ability to be an action-oriented and results-driven leader, with a natural aptitude for engaging employees across multiple workgroups
