Job Description

The Director, Total Rewards & HR Technology is responsible for defining and implementing Indigo's total rewards philosophy, roadmap and execution strategy-ensuring the organization attracts, retains and motivates talent through market-competitive, financially sustainable and employee-centric reward programs.

This role ensures the effectiveness, scalability and integration of all total rewards and HR technology programs, including compensation, benefits, wellness, absence management and workforce analytics across Home Office, Retail and Distribution Centre teams.

The Director will be a key driver of Indigo's evolution into a high-performance, growth-oriented organization by providing the rewards infrastructure, workforce insights and technology capabilities required to support business performance, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS
  • On-time, on-budget delivery of key Total Rewards
  • Effectiveness and competitiveness of compensation, benefits and wellness programs
  • Improvement in absence management outcomes and employee experience
  • Customer satisfaction score of the Total Rewards

  • Workforce data integrity and reporting effectiveness

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates as a senior HR leader in shaping Indigo's people strategy, ensuring total rewards and HR technology directly support business performance, talent attraction, engagement and retention.
  • Defines and continuously evolves Indigo's total rewards philosophy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, employee needs and market competitiveness.
  • Develops and delivers a multi-year Total Rewards roadmap with clear annual priorities covering compensation, benefits, wellness, absence management, workforce analytics and HR systems optimization.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing Total Rewards team, setting clear standards for delivery, accountability and impact.
  • Establishes clear success measures and uses analytics, workforce data and market intelligence to assess effectiveness, inform decisions and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on compensation, rewards strategy, workforce analytics, organizational design implications and people-related risk.
  • Maintains strong external awareness of emerging trends in rewards, HR technology and workforce planning, ensuring Indigo remains competitive and forward-looking.
  • Partners with HR and business leaders to identify workforce risks, retention challenges and future talent needs.
  • Aligns rewards, wellness and HR technology priorities to business strategy and workforce plans.
  • Contributes to annual planning, budgeting and prioritization across the people portfolio.
  • Leads change and adoption efforts when reward programs or workforce policies are introduced or updated.
  • Provides enterprise-wide expertise related to compensation, benefits, workforce analytics, governance and legislative compliance.

Qualifications
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, Benefits, or related disciplines within a complex organization
  • University degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field
  • Deep expertise in compensation strategy, job architecture, market pricing, benefits design, wellness and absence management
  • Strong financial and analytical capability, including executive-level modelling and business case development
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation, pay equity, pay transparency and governance requirements
  • Proven experience building high-performing teams and influencing senior leaders
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to turn insights into action and drive measurable outcomes
  • Demonstrates creative thinking, resilience and strong business judgement
