Team Overview

Our People Experience (PX) team leads PowerSchool’s human-resources function, equipping and encouraging PowerSchoolers to reach their potential while driving business results. The PX team manages the organization’s global workforce infrastructure; supports the overall employee experience; and attracts, develops, and retains talent.

Responsibilities Description

The Talent Acquisition team develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process. The team works cross-functionally with business leaders and PX to ensure we find the right talent for the organization. The Director, Talent Acquisition (North America) is responsible for leading recruiting strategy and delivery across assigned business units, ensuring alignment with workforce plans and business priorities. This role drives hiring outcomes at scale through team leadership, cross-functional partnership, and the design of efficient, high-quality recruiting processes. 

The Director partners closely with PX, Finance, and executive business leaders to translate organizational goals into scalable talent acquisition strategies that enable business growth. 

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

 

Leadership & Team Management 

  • Lead and develop a team of recruiters and recruiting leaders, including performance management, coaching, and talent planning 
  • Establish team structure, capacity models, and resourcing strategies to support hiring demand 
  • Drive a high-performance culture with clear expectations, accountability, and consistent delivery standards 

Hiring Delivery & Execution 

  • Own end-to-end recruiting outcomes across assigned functions, including time-to-fill, quality of hire, and candidate experience 
  • Monitor hiring progress against workforce plans and adjust strategies to meet business needs 
  • Ensure consistent execution of recruiting processes, standards, and systems across the team 

Strategy & Business Partnership 

  • Partner with senior business leaders, PX Business Partners, and Finance to align hiring strategies with workforce and budget plans 
  • Translate business priorities into actionable recruiting strategies and execution plans 
  • Provide market insights, talent intelligence, and competitive benchmarking to inform hiring decisions 

Operational Excellence & Transformation 

  • Drive continuous improvement of recruiting processes, tools, and operating models to increase efficiency and scalability 
  • Identify and implement best practices to improve pipeline quality, diversity outcomes, and stakeholder experience 
  • Partner with Total Rewards and PX leadership to ensure alignment on job leveling, compensation, and hiring practices 

Governance & Compliance 

  • Ensure all recruiting practices comply with applicable laws, policies, and internal guidelines 
  • Maintain consistency and integrity in hiring practices, including equitable and compliant decision-making 

Scope & Impact 

  • Accountable for recruiting delivery across North America for assigned business areas 
  • Leads a team responsible for achieving hiring plan targets and enabling business growth 
  • Influences talent strategy and hiring decisions at the senior leadership level 
  • Drives standardization and scale across recruiting operations 
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of recruiting experience, including full-cycle recruitment 
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience within talent acquisition 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Travel occasionally, up to 15-20%, for key moments such as team summits, training, conferences, etc., with increased frequency during peak periods based on business demands.
  • Proven ability to lead recruiting teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment 
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior business leaders and influencing hiring strategy 
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting tools, systems, and data-driven decision-making 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS, technology, or education technology environments 
  • Experience leading recruiting transformation, process improvements, or operating model changes 
  • Strong understanding of labor market dynamics and talent strategy

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $153,700 - $192,100 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
