Full Job Description
A Brief Overview
The Director Support Services, Indiana Region will oversee the daily operations and regional alignment of Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition, Laundry, Internal Patient Transport, and Clinical Registered Dietitian Services across the Indiana Region, including Midtown, Gateway, Memorial, Gibson, and any future location that joins the region. This role provides leadership, standardization, operational oversight, and performance accountability for assigned support service departments. Performs the following duties personally or through subordinate Managers / Supervisors.

  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customer departments, the management team, and the medical staff.
  • Ensure that employee and patient safety is a primary concern in the daily operations of the Director led departments.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Participates on various hospital committees.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises assigned Managers and leaders within the Support Services organizational structure across the Indiana Region. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving operational concerns.
  • Participates as a team member in the work of the health system's management team, understanding and implementing assigned duties and responsibilities to support team goals and objectives, working cooperatively with other team members, receiving and sharing information, soliciting input, identifying operational and interpersonal issues, and participating in problem solving.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs regional programs that support environmentally sound, safe, compliant, and cost-effective methods for infection prevention, waste handling, food and nutrition operations, laundry services, internal patient transport, and clinical registered dietitian services.
  • Develops and recommends policies, procedures, and operating standards for Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition, Laundry, Internal Patient Transport, and Clinical Registered Dietitian Services to support consistent regional operations.
  • Develops and maintains policies supporting Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and codes for Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition, Laundry, Internal Patient Transport, and Clinical Registered Dietitian Services across all assigned Indiana Region locations.

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
