Job Description:

Join Sun Life's Client Experience Office as a Director, Strategy and Transformation, where you'll drive meaningful change at the intersection of client experience, digital innovation, and AI. In this pivotal role, you'll shape the strategic direction of critical initiatives that position Sun Life as a client-first, digital-first organization. Working directly with senior leadership, you'll identify opportunities, develop transformational strategies, and execute initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious strategic leader to influence enterprise-wide priorities and advance Sun Life's competitive position in a rapidly evolving financial services landscape.

What will you do?
  • Strategic Planning & Development: Partner with leadership to develop the annual strategic plan, translating enterprise objectives into clear strategic initiatives and actionable execution plans
  • Strategic Analysis & Problem Solving: Conduct in-depth analyses of complex business challenges, interpret analytical results, generate actionable insights, and develop recommendations supported by compelling data and storytelling
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Deliver priority research and analyses, including competitive landscape assessments, market trends, and strategic opportunities that inform business decisions
  • Leadership Communication: Prepare and present formal strategic updates and informal briefings for senior management; facilitate leadership engagement in strategy discussions and recommendation execution
  • Stakeholder Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships across the Client Experience Office and Sun Life Canada's strategy teams, fostering active dialogue and organizational alignment


What do you need to succeed?

Essential Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant business experience (insurance or financial services experience preferred)
  • 2+ years in top-tier management consulting or equivalent corporate strategy experience
  • University degree in business or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and solving complex business problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong stakeholder management ability with proven relationship-building track record
  • Results-oriented project management skills with ability to prioritize, organize, and deliver on aggressive timelines with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Digital, data, and AI literacy with ability to translate emerging capabilities into business outcomes
  • MBA qualification
  • AI or emerging technology experience

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
