Travel is required as needed but expected 10% of the time or less.
In conjunction with the Strategic Sourcing & Supply (SS&S) Mission, this position will participate in creating quantifiable and sustainable cost savings by driving towards a lower Total Cost of Ownership structure for BNSF. Principally this position will lead in developing and executing supplier management strategies to reduce Total Cost of Ownership for the bnsf|tech (Information Technology and Telecommunications).
Key responsibilities may include:
Lead and
develop a team of analyst/managers to achieve SS&S's vision of providing safe and reliable services to Team BNSF at the lowest total cost while also helping them achieve their career goals
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand, forecast, prioritize current and upcoming purchasing needs
Focus on
growing talent within the team and the Sourcing Department
Ability to get deeply involved in overall enterprise strategy for effectiveness and efficiency
Develop sourcing strategies
Facilitate market research and
perform internal data collection and analytics
Develop and
complete RFPs and spot buys
Review,
edit and
negotiate contracts
Establish and
monitor service level agreements
Manage relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Develop presentations and
facilitate leadership presentations
Participate on cross-functional teams to identify and execute Strategic Sourcing Initiatives for complex commodities and sourcing projects.
Provide recommendations to the Strategic Sourcing & Supply and bnsf|tech leadership teams including opportunities to capture the greatest savings by modeling economic scenarios for areas of spend
Act as an advisor on the selection of suppliers
Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:- Able to work now and in the future without BNSF's assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, marketing, engineering, economics, math, MIS, statistics or Technology related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional business experience in the fields of procurement, finance, and/or information technology.
Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced computer technologies in order to create analytical models
- Possess strong quantitative analysis skills
- Excellent planning and presentation skills
- Strong relationship building and communications skills
- Ability to work under time and performance pressures
