Purpose

The Director, Enterprise Strategic Relationship Office, enables the Bank's economic growth agenda by orchestrating high-value strategic relationships and executive engagement across the enterprise. The role ensures a coordinated, insight-driven, and impactful approach to engaging the Bank's most important clients and stakeholders, maximizing relationship value, strengthening market positioning, and driving commercial outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be someone with demonstrably effective skills in relationship building, an understanding of the financial sector and government landscape, and experience in working in a cross-functional capacity with strong execution and organization skills.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be involved in:

  • Develop and maintain a formal enterprise strategic relationship framework, including tiering of priority clients and engagement models.
  • Establish relationship objectives, success metrics, and engagement plans for the Bank's most strategic clients.
  • Drive proactive, insight-led engagement strategies aligned to enterprise growth priorities. Collaborates with internal teams (sales, marketing, product, leadership) to align on client priorities, growth strategies, and long-term partnership vision.
  • Acts as a single point of contact for CEO-level event participation and executes CEO-led events. Oversees and maintains an enterprise calendar of key Bank-led and Bank-sponsored events, along with events important to the financial sector.
  • Design and scale enterprise corporate access and client engagement programs that deliver measurable strategic and commercial outcomes.
  • Where the Bank may engage external advisors, this role would act as the main point of contact for those individuals.
  • Supports the Bank's ability to drive revenue through relationship-led opportunities.
  • Define and track KPIs for strategic relationships and executive engagement, and deliver regular executive reporting and insights on relationship health and impact.
  • Provide briefing insights on key clients, industries, and market dynamics to support executive engagement.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and risks across top client relationships, and identify and escalate reputational, relationship, or stakeholder risks tied to strategic clients or events.
  • Partner with internal teams to surface actionable insights that inform enterprise strategy.
  • Establish and lead governance processes for enterprise client prioritization and engagement coordination.
  • Ensure a consistent, premium client experience across all strategic interactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in event strategy, execution, and impact.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion in all executive and client interactions.
  • Works closely with Government Relations and Global Corporate Affairs on any government engagement and Scotiabank thought leadership opportunities.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

  • Strong logistics and planning capabilities.
  • A sense of ownership. The role enables senior leaders to perform at the highest possible level. The incumbent is expected to be responsive but also proactive.
