We are seeking a
Director of Engineering that is experienced in growing and enabling teams to build high-availability solutions for consumers and enterprises. As a Director of Engineering for Ascend (Non-Core), you'll lead teams across services including Power Reporting, Public APIs and Data Conversions.

This position is remote within the United States with up to 10% travel as needed with a preference for an individual that is able to work out of our American Fork, UT office.
What You Will Do- Overseeing and advancing multiple development teams, ensuring alignment with product strategy
- Leading efforts in hiring, team development and supporting industry changes to achieve market dominance
- Creating staffing strategies and managing recruitment processes
- Promoting engineering excellence within your domain
- Improving developer experience to facilitate continuous delivery at scale
- Inspiring and mentoring team leaders and their teams
- Ensuring product security, compliance, and reliability
- Collaborating with senior engineering leadership on vision and strategy
- Influencing strategic commitments and enhancing user experience

What We Are Looking For- Demonstrated experience and impact in senior engineering leadership roles
- Understanding of DORA metrics and their usage in a modern engineering organization
- Expertise in both backend and frontend technologies
- Proficiency with databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server
- In-depth knowledge of building RESTful APIs
- Experience integrating internal and third-party services
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
- Skilled in leading and influencing within a hybrid and remote environment
- Independent and proactive, with a commitment to delivering results with minimal supervision
- Empathetic, authentic, inquisitive, driven, self-motivated, diligent, optimistic, and courageous
What Will Set You Apart- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Understanding of data migration and ETL practices

$165,000 - $235,000, which is the expected starting salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a bonus target not reflected in the range.
