OverviewUnder the general direction of the Executive Director, or designee, the Director, Shriver Center ECHO Program provides strategic and operational leadership for the UMass Chan Shriver Center's ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) Program. The Director is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of ECHO learning collaboratives throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This position oversees interdisciplinary program staff, develops partnerships with healthcare providers and organizations, provides clinical consultation and subject matter expertise, and leads efforts to secure sustainable funding for the ECHO Program. The Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advance educational initiatives that improve care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other underserved populations.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the UMass Chan Shriver Center ECHO Program, including oversight of program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Identifies, develops, and secures external funding opportunities
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including finance and administrative teams, to support budget planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and resource allocation decisions.
- Direct the implementation and administration of all ECHO collaborative cohorts to ensure successful program delivery and achievement of established goals.
- Develop, expand, and disseminate ECHO learning collaboratives throughout Massachusetts.
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of new ECHO educational modules and initiatives as program needs evolve.
- Provide clinical consultation, guidance, and subject matter expertise to program staff and participating healthcare providers.
- Oversee and mentor an interdisciplinary program team, fostering collaboration, professional development, and accountability.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, healthcare organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders across the Commonwealth.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across UMass Chan Medical School to ensure alignment of program initiatives with institutional priorities.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret program data; prepare reports, presentations, and other program documentation for leadership, sponsors, and funding agencies.
- Lead efforts to identify and secure external funding to support the long-term sustainability and growth of the ECHO Program.
- Participate in educational activities, including periodic teaching of medical and graduate nursing students related to the care of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Promote an inclusive, collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, constructive dialogue, and effective conflict resolution.
- Model ethical decision-making and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with institutional policies and professional standards.
- Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.
QualificationsREQUIRED:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or another clinical discipline.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible leadership experience within a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience leading interdisciplinary teams and managing complex programs or initiatives.
- Strong strategic planning, organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and communicate findings to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, collaboration, and confidentiality.
PREFERRED:
- Demonstrated administrative leadership experience with successful program and personnel management.
- Advanced degree or additional graduate training in Management, Public Health, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in healthcare administration, public policy, or public administration.
- Experience developing and securing external funding through grants or other funding mechanisms.
- Demonstrated commitment to team development and staff mentoring.
- Experience working effectively with culturally diverse populations.
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and/or acquired brain injuries.
- Experience developing educational programs or learning collaboratives for healthcare professionals.
Additional InformationUsual office environment with prolonged periods of computer use. Requires occasional travel throughout Massachusetts to attend meetings, educational programs, and partner sites. May require occasional evening or weekend work to support program activities.
