Full Job Description
As a Director, Services Category Management at the expert professional level, you'll lead the enterprise strategy for Phillips 66's highest-complexity Services spend and guide a team of seven Category Managers across multiple sites, assets, and business units. You'll shape long-term sourcing, commercial, supplier, and risk strategies that improve value, reliability, safety, resilience, and performance while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.

At Phillips 66, Lead Forward is our leadership approach. It defines how leaders show up, make decisions, and support their teams while delivering results in a complex, fast-changing environment. Leaders who lead other leaders are expected to scale strong leadership across teams. This includes coaching leaders, aligning work to strategy, and breaking down barriers so teams can work together effectively. You'll guide others through change, encourage sound decision making, and ensure accountability for results.

What You'll Do
  • Define and deliver multi-year category strategies and roadmaps for critical Services spend, aligning demand, supplier markets, operating needs, and enterprise priorities across sites and business units.
  • Design total-value commercial strategies that balance productivity, uptime, safety, ESG, working capital, capacity, innovation, and risk; lead complex negotiations and advise on high-impact deals, restructures, alliances, and disputes.
  • Govern strategic supplier relationships through consistent performance measures, executive-level reviews, and joint improvement plans that strengthen reliability, innovation, productivity, resilience, and long-term value.
  • Lead and develop a team of seven Category Managers by setting clear goals and roles, coaching performance, building bench strength and succession coverage, and creating a cohesive team that uses diverse expertise to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Break down barriers across Procurement, business functions, sites, and suppliers by sharing information early, inviting different perspectives, recognizing contributions, and building shared ownership for enterprise decisions.
  • Drive execution of multi-year transformations and implementation roadmaps by establishing practical governance, metrics, milestones, and feedback rhythms; hold leaders accountable for commitments and course-correct when risks emerge.
  • Navigate ambiguity and change with focus and steadiness, anticipating shifts in regulation, labor markets, technology, energy, and supplier capacity while helping the team turn uncertainty into clear priorities and forward action.
  • Use market, spend, operational, financial, and risk data to challenge assumptions, improve decision quality, and set the standard for analytical storytelling, digital tools, dashboards, and practical AI adoption across the portfolio.
  • Represent Services Category Management on the Procurement Leadership Team and influence senior stakeholders through clear recommendations that balance business-unit needs, enterprise strategy, capital allocation, and operational impact.
  • Model integrity, reliability, and ethical conduct in every decision and relationship; reinforce Phillips 66's code of conduct, safety expectations, policies, and compliance requirements while making timely decisions and escalating enterprise exposure appropriately.
