Full Job Description
The Director of Security Practice is responsible for leading the growth, operational excellence, and successful delivery of the organization's security practice across consulting, professional services, and managed security offerings. This role aligns business objectives, sales strategy, delivery execution, and partner relationships to build a scalable, high-performing security business that meets client needs and revenue goals.

Working closely with executive leadership, sales, solution architects, engineers, service delivery teams, and clients, this individual acts as both a business leader and a technical advisor for strategic opportunities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on or solution-level experience in email security, SASE security solutions, endpoint security, vulnerability assessment tools, SOC/MDR offerings such as Arctic Wolf and Pondurance, and secure web/API gateway platforms such as Zscaler and Cloudflare.

Requirements
  • Lead the strategic direction, growth plan, and day-to-day operations of the security practice, including service development, go-to-market priorities, and revenue attainment.
  • Partner with sales teams to qualify opportunities, develop account strategies, support discovery sessions, and help position security solutions that address customer business and risk objectives.
  • Provide technical and business leadership across email security, SASE, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, SOC/MDR, and secure gateway solutions, ensuring offerings remain current, competitive, and aligned to client demand.
  • Oversee delivery quality, resource planning, utilization, and customer satisfaction across security engagements[DH1] [WH2] , including assessments, implementations, managed services, and recurring advisory services.
  • Build strategic relationships with key security vendors and partners, including Arctic Wolf,[DH3] [WH4] Pondurance, Zscaler, Cloudflare, and other relevant platform providers to support joint selling, enablement, and service delivery excellence.
  • Work with internal iT1 personnel attached to Security Vendors to collaborate on business plans and strategy
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop security consultants, engineers, and practice resources by establishing career paths, training plans, delivery standards, and technical enablement programs.
  • Own practice-level financial performance, including forecasting, pipeline health, gross margin, service pricing input, and contribution to annual business planning.
  • Contribute to proposals, statements of work, service descriptions, presentations, and executive briefings, translating technical capabilities into clear business value and delivery outcomes.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators for the practice, including bookings, revenue, utilization, customer satisfaction, service quality, and partner performance, and drive continuous improvement based on results.


Job Qualification Requirements:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, security consulting, managed security services, or related technology services, including leadership or practice management responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following domains: email security, SASE/security service edge, endpoint security, vulnerability assessment and management tools, SOC/MDR solutions, and secure access or API gateway technologies.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in practice operations, service delivery management, financial oversight, forecasting, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Ability to lead pre-sales activities including client discovery, workshop facilitation, solution positioning, proposal development, and statement of work review.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.


Preferred Certifications:
  • Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CCSP
  • Relevant vendor certifications from Zscaler, Cloudflare, Microsoft Security, Cisco, Palo Alto
  • Relevant leading cybersecurity platforms.


Physical Demands:

Job Location:
  • Remote if located outside of a reasonable commute.
  • Hybrid if local to the Tempe/Phoenix, Arizona area.
