About the RoleThe
Director of Sales Engineering leads a geographically distributed team of Sales Engineers supporting enterprise and government customers. This role partners closely with Sales and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth, deliver technically sound solutions, and ensure a strong customer experience from pre-sale through activation.
This leader is both strategic and hands-on-providing direction, coaching, and oversight while enabling the sales organization with deep technical expertise, strong process discipline, and effective collaboration across the business.
What You'll Do- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Engineers providing pre-sales technical support
- Partner closely with regional Sales leadership to align technical strategy with revenue goals
- Serve as a key liaison between Sales, Operations, Project Management, and Product teams to support successful customer deployments
- Oversee solution design for complex opportunities, RFP responses, and out-of-scope requests
- Ensure consistent, accurate, and ethical communication of product capabilities and solutions
- Drive standardized processes, tools, and best practices across all markets
- Support customer escalations and help ensure a positive overall customer experience
- Provide ongoing training to the sales organization on products, technology, and industry trends
- Prepare and review KPIs, forecasts, and performance metrics
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop Sales Engineering talent
- Partner with Product Development on new service launches and enhancements
What You BringEducation:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Telecommunications certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MEF)
Experience:- 8+ years in telecom pre-sales technical roles or
- 3+ years in Sales Engineering leadership
- Strong knowledge of fiber networks, metro Ethernet, transport delivery, IP services, SD-WAN, voice solutions, and cloud environments
- Solid understanding of the OSI model, network design, and telecom installation workflows
- Experience with financial modeling, ROI calculations, pricing, and profitability analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and mapping/GIS tools

Salary Range: $129,000 - $150,000 + Commission
