Director, Quality Assurance

About the Role
Advent Software, Inc. is seeking a Director, Quality Assurance, to lead and oversee all aspects of quality assurance for our software products. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of quality, driving process improvements, and managing a team of QA professionals to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software solutions to our clients
How You Will Make an Impact
- Define, implement, and continuously improve QA strategies, policies, processes, and best practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Establish AI best practices for the QA team, develop a QA AI training program and knowledge sharing, head a technical QA leadership cohort to oversee AI POCs and projects across the QA team, and to explore new uses and applications of AI to improve quality and efficiency.
- Oversee the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation scripts for various software products and features.
- Collaborate closely with product management, development, and other cross-functional teams to ensure quality is embedded from concept to release.
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
- Drive the adoption and implementation of test automation frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and coverage.
- Manage defect tracking, prioritization, and resolution processes, working closely with development teams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality objectives.
- Stay abreast of emerging QA trends, technologies, and methodologies, and recommend their application where appropriate.
- Participate in release planning and provide sign-off on product quality for production deployments.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience leading and scaling QA teams for complex enterprise software products.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile/Scrum.
- Extensive experience with various testing types (functional, integration, regression, performance, security, etc.) and methodologies
- Strong expertise in test automation frameworks, tools, and strategies (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, API testing tools).
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and quality gates.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Experience in the financial technology (FinTech) industry is a significant plus.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and implement process improvements

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
Massachusetts: The expected base salary for the position is between 200,000 USD to 210,000 USD.
