Job Description:

The Director, Program Management - Consumables Operations, will lead strategic cross-functional programs supporting the development, manufacturing, commercialization, and lifecycle management of consumables products. This role is responsible for driving operational execution across product development, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and commercialization functions to ensure scalable, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of consumables portfolios.

The ideal candidate brings strong program management expertise within regulated manufacturing environments and has experience leading complex initiatives involving consumables products in medical device, diagnostics, life sciences, or related industries. This leader will work closely with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure the successful execution of new product introductions, operational readiness, and sustaining initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Consumables Programs: Manage a portfolio of strategic programs and initiatives supporting consumables product development, manufacturing scale-up, commercialization, and sustaining operations.
  • Cross-Functional Program Leadership: Coordinate and drive alignment across R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Commercial teams to achieve program objectives.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead operational readiness activities for consumables product launches, including manufacturing transfer, supplier readiness, inventory planning, validation activities, and commercialization support.
  • Program Planning & Execution: Develop and manage integrated program plans, timelines, budgets, resource requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and performance metrics.
  • Manufacturing & Supply Chain Coordination: Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize production capacity, supplier performance, material availability, and operational scalability.
  • Governance & Reporting: Establish effective governance structures and provide regular program updates, dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting to leadership teams.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost optimization, quality performance, and process standardization across consumables operations.
  • Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all programs are executed in compliance with applicable quality systems and regulatory requirements, including FDA, ISO, and GMP standards.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify and proactively mitigate program, operational, and supply chain risks to ensure successful execution and business continuity.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize operational and business data to monitor program performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor program managers and cross-functional teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence.
  • Drive Scalability & Standardization: Support the implementation of standardized tools, systems, and best practices to improve operational maturity and support organizational growth.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive program management experience within consumables, medical device, diagnostics, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional programs involving consumables product development, manufacturing, and commercialization.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, quality systems, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience leading new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing transfer, and operational readiness activities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Expertise with program management methodologies and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Agile, Stage Gate).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments.


Preferred:

  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or related certifications.
  • Experience in FDA-regulated and ISO-compliant manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Experience supporting high-volume consumables manufacturing and global supply chain operations.
  • Background in diagnostics, medtech, biotechnology, or healthcare industries.

Base Pay: $160,00 - $190,000 + bonus

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
