Responsibilities

 

We are hiring a Program Director to join Peraton's Health, Commercial, State and Local team supporting HHS Public Health Agencies. This leadership role offers the opportunity to drive mission-critical Health IT programs that advance public health outcomes, modernize technology platforms, and support the missions of federal health agencies. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to customers, lead high-performing teams, drive operational excellence, and help shape the future of healthcare and public health technology through innovative and impactful solutions.

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Responsible for successful program delivery, including technical, schedule, and cost performance in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Partner with the organization's CTO and Technology Solutions teams to develop and execute technology roadmaps that support customer missions and business objectives.
  • Drive execution excellence and maintain aggressive efforts to achieve program and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement account growth strategies in collaboration with program leadership, business development, and capture organizations.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and drive executive-level customer engagement.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying, shaping, and pursuing follow-on opportunities within areas of responsibility.
  • Lead and support major proposal efforts, including solution development, customer engagement, and proposal reviews.
  • Coordinate with pricing, contracts, and operational teams throughout the proposal and capture lifecycle.
  • Develop and oversee quality assurance programs to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
  • Establish, monitor, and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs), performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to program staff and cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.

What You'll Need

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 16 years of experience, may have management experience.
  • Minimum of 16 years of Health IT program management experience leading large-scale federal programs and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting HHS Public Health Agencies, including FDA, NIH, HRSA, CDC, or similar organizations.
  • Extensive experience managing the implementation, modernization, and delivery of complex federal systems with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven experience overseeing technical, schedule, cost, and operational performance on large federal contracts.
  • Experience managing program financial performance, including Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic customer insight and effectively engage executive-level stakeholders.
  • Established experience developing and leading high-performing teams to achieve program and organizational objectives.
  • Proven ability to support business development efforts, including customer engagement, capture activities, proposal development, and pursuit strategies.
  • Knowledge of business planning, stakeholder management, product management, customer acquisition and retention, and strategic growth planning.
  • Experience implementing and managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs), performance metrics, and operational reporting.
  • Experience developing and managing customer-focused continuous improvement and quality assurance programs.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to adapt to evolving customer and business requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance  

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree is a plus.
  • Experience leading digital transformation, cloud modernization, data analytics, artificial intelligence, or emerging technology initiatives within HHS Public Health Agencies.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing account growth strategies and capturing new business opportunities within the HHS public health market.
  • Established relationships with key stakeholders across HHS Public Health Agencies.
  • Experience working closely with CTOs, enterprise architects, and technology leadership teams to define technical roadmaps and innovation strategies.
  • Experience leading large, strategic federal proposal efforts and competitive pursuits.
  • Experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams and subcontractor organizations.
  • Additional industry certifications related to program management, agile delivery, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, or federal IT modernization

 

Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
