Role Overview
Mastercard Checkout Services is committed to making online payments simpler, faster, and more secure. We achieve this by eliminating manual card entry, tokenizing every e-commerce transaction, and applying intelligent, highly secure authentication methods. Our solutions are built on scalable digital payment technologies, delivered through products such as Click to Pay, Secure Card-on-File Tokenization, and Token Authentication Service.

The Director, Card on File Tokenization will join the Mastercard Checkout Services team and drive the expansion of tokenization across merchants, payment service providers (PSPs), acquirers, and issuers. This role will focus on token performance, leading key initiatives and providing strategic thought leadership to strengthen one of the key value propositions of e-commerce tokenization.

Primary Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
• Lead and inspire high-performing product managers across multiple regions and time zones.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver new functionality to promote token performance
• Provide thought leadership on proactive ways to increase token performance and drive the execution end to end
• Prioritize initiatives to maximize impact and deliver against KPIs.
• Engage directly with merchants, PSPs, and acquirers to understand functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring product-market fit.
• Collaborate with regional and customer-facing teams to accelerate adoption and growth of card-on-file tokenization globally.
• Monitor market dynamics and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture that empowers teams to innovate and deliver exceptional results.
• Lead by example with hands-on approaches to demonstrate product management excellence and share best practices.
• Demonstrate and drive Mastercard Way behaviors (e.g. customer and stakeholder interactions)

All About You
• Proven experience in product management within payments, fintech, or e-commerce ecosystems.
• Understanding of digital payments, tokenization, and/or authentication technologies.
• Passion for B2B customer experiences.
• Strategic thinker with a track record of defining and executing product strategies that drive growth and adoption.
• Have an owner mindset and go out of your way to get close to the customer to find out what their needs are and how a product can help.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging customers.
• Analytical and data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to interpret market trends and performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of aligning cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Global mindset, comfortable working across regions and time zones in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experiences that are a plus:
• Product management experience in digital payments, tokenization, or a similar API product
• Prior people management experience
• Experience working with issuers, merchants, acquirers or PSPs

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.

New York City, New York: $187,000 - $318,000 USD

Purchase, New York: $179,000 - $305,000 USD
