Full Job Description
What you will do: Lead strategic initiatives and assess departmental needs, diagnoses and recommends solutions that impact management and leadership abilities. Responsible for implementing and monitoring practices and procedures to enhance the day-to-day and long-range security operations including: profit and loss, customer satisfaction and training program.

Conduct investigations regarding theft, liability claims, robberies, burglaries, employee policy violations, missing and misappropriated funds as well as other activities that would result in a loss to the company. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a working relationship with local law enforcement, prosecuting agencies and fire and rescue services. Provide consultation to the County Attorney's Office regarding gaming crimes.

Responsible for developing, directing and managing processes to protect the company, its employees, patrons, information and reputation. The incumbent is responsible for the safety of the entire population of staff members as well as the customers. Ensure effective physical security programs and methods by the development of Standards, Guidelines, Policies and Procedures designed to mitigate risks to Company from known and anticipated threats.

Recruits, interviews and screens applicants at and above the level of manager. Perform background investigations on all levels of perspective employment candidates. Develop training methods to educate the Security and Law Enforcement staff on the methods of cheating at gambling games.

Assist in creation, implementation and maintenance of the annual budgets of Security, Traffic and Law Enforcement areas. Responsible for the overall direction of recruiting, selection, training, compensation and evaluation of the 237 subordinate positions.

Responsible for the Traffic department as well as all employee parking. Responsible for implementing & monitoring practices and procedures to enhance the day-to-day and long-range departmental plans.

Education and Experience - Eight (8) years of Casino and Horse Racing security experience, at least Five (5) years of which shall have been in responsible charge of a security function or an earned Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Criminal Justice or related field from an accredited institution of higher education and six (6) years of Casino security experience, at least four (4) years of which shall have been in responsible charge of a security function. Must have a thorough understanding of current security practices and standards, Security development, the development of sound policies and procedures as well as risk management. P.C. proficiency that includes but is not limited to Computer Aided Dispatch systems, a variety of database software, and software for the viewing of an integrated digital CCTV system. The incumbent must have knowledge of all table games offered at the facility and a strong understanding of games protection and methods of cheating. Strong interpersonal skills. Highly developed comprehension skills that enable the incumbent to read and interpret legal documents, a variety of reports that include both informational and financial aspects, State, Federal and Administrative codes. A valid driver's License and an Iowa Racing and Gaming License are required.

Physical, Mental, and Visual Requirement - Requires continuous mental and visual concentration with attention to detail and accuracy. Must plan and organize complex work. Tasks require constant alertness and considerable mental concentration due to the degree of difficulty, irregularity, and variety. Stress associated in working with different personalities of managers, staff members, and peers and dealing with urgent problem resolution and frequent interruptions in both personal and professional lives.
