Full Job Description
Join The Lofton Hotel, an upscale lifestyle hotel in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, as our next Director of Sales. We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader to develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, drive revenue growth, and cultivate strong client relationships across corporate, group, catering, and leisure segments.

What will you be doing?
• Supervision of staff, planning and development of market segments, contract and booking approval, sales lead assignment, and overseeing sales and marketing efforts for all Sales Managers.
• Strategic planning, goal setting, yield management, revenue management, period end reports, and other departmental activities to meet financial and sales objectives for the property.
• Serve as liaison between hotel, advertising and public relations agencies, and Manager of Marketing and Public Relations.
• Account prospecting, solicitation, and development via telephone, personal contact, outside calls, correspondence, email and other means of communication. Conduct hotel site inspections, entertain both in house and off property, and maintain thorough follow up methods.
• Attend meetings including, but not limited to, P & T, pre-convention, business review, revenue and departmental.
• Represent hotel at trade shows, civic/business functions, industry-related associations, and other events to promote the hotel and/or the city. Maintain active participation in one (1) corporate sponsored industry association.
• Maintain and oversee the Hotel Customer Really Matters (CRM) program.
• Active involvement in revenue management decisions for the hotel.

What do you bring to the role?
• Four-year college degree preferred, however, any combination of education and training within hotel sales may also be considered. Knowledge of CAST preferred.
• Proficient computer knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Basic mathematical skills that allow for calculation of room blocks, average rates, and forecast information.
• Ability to travel.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
• Ability to organize detailed information.
• Strong knowledge of market segments.
• Valid driver's license.
• Understanding of Hotel Market Matrix and Salt Scores.
