Donohoe Hospitality is looking for a Director of Sales & Marketing to join their team. The responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel's finance and providing accounting support to the hotel team. Utilize accounting and Hotel software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable, receivables, disbursements, expense vouchers, cash, and receipts.
DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETINGSalary Range $105,000.00 - $110,000.00 annual + Bonus Program Elgible Position SummaryResponsible for the daily operation of the Sales Department.
Essential Functions- Responsible for leading & driving top-line revenue for sales segments to include group, business transient, and banquet & catering.
- Analyze and react to market trends, market share & the competitive hotel environment.
- Work closely with revenue management to develop strategies to maximize revenue and grow market share.
- Develop and implement action plans to achieve the hotel's desired positioning, and manage the sales & marketing budget supporting all initiatives.
- Lead hiring, training, development, and management of the sales team.
- Act as the hotel's voice of the customer and communicate key issues/concerns at all levels of the organization.
- Maintain effective communication with other department heads, home office, and brand representatives.
- Fluent in reading/analyzing Smith Travel Research data, financial P&L, TravelClick, sales mix, forecasting, group pace/position & a wide array of traditional hotel reporting.
- Conduct comprehensive competitive set reviews, SWOT analysis & stay updated on new supply.
- Understand source of business & ability to develop a plan to penetrate the primary markets.
- Develop/implement key segment strategies & manage key accounts (both existing & target accounts).
- Develop sales goals designed to achieve budget & market share targets.
- Manage the PMS and sales systems according to DHS's guidelines.
- Manage sales activity & travel schedule.
- Work daily with sales staff to review the status of business, schedules, priority assignments, and all information pertinent to the department's operation.
- Establish annual room and B&C revenue budget and sales and marketing plan with the GM and other department heads.
- Train sales staff and operations staff on new brand, marketing, or advertising promotions.
- Coordinate and maintain effective communication with other department heads to ensure the hotel maintains excellent guest service and to promote the hotel.
- Adhere to all guidelines, procedures, and policies established by the hotel and DHS, including but not limited to those contained in the employee handbook.
Education and Experience-Washington, DC Market expertise, with proven experience working with Destination DC and managing citywide convention sales preferred.
-Previous Hotel Sales Experience required.
-Previous Supervisory Experience required.
