Airbus Americas, Inc is looking for a Director of Performance to join our team based inMobile, AL.

The Director of Performance is responsible for A320 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Dashboards linked to the A320 FAL in order to deliver on time, on cost and on quality. Incumbent will lead the A320 FAL for strategy and integration of Key Performance Results & KPR. Responsible for establishing, maintaining and communicating a clear understanding of the priorities, status and plan for the A320 FAL performance by all stakeholders.

Your Working Environment:

On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges:
  • Lead the definition and strategic alignment of the performance system, ensuring clear lineage from result KPIs to actionable Monitoring KPIs
    • Translate A320 Single Aisle targets into a robust performance system, guaranteeing their integration with central VSM and the A320 Target Letter at L4 (VP - Head of Final Assembly Line) and L5 (SVP) levels.
    • Establish a single source of truth for all defined KPIs, including the development and standardization of KPI ID Cards to ensure data integrity and consistency.
    • Represent and lead A320 FAL performance in national and international initiatives aimed at harmonizing KPI methodologies and performance management practices across all global Final Assembly Lines.
  • Deploy Performance System Improvements
    • Drive the end-to-end deployment of new KPIs and performance dashboards across all management levels (L1, L2, L3, L4, L5), ensuring seamless integration and adoption.
    • Establish a robust performance governance framework and routine, complete with clear Terms of Reference, to facilitate effective performance review and accountability.
    • Oversee the delivery of comprehensive visual performance management dashboards tailored for daily, weekly, and monthly reviews at each management level.

      • L4 - VP (Ho Final Assembly Line level) (Weekly E2E / Weekly Performance review)

  • Secure Achievement of target through continuous improvement
    • Lead the analysis of current performance trends to proactively identify deviations, priorities and define strategic action plans/Lean PDCA cycles for performance restoration.
    • Monitor and guide the team's performance management processes, ensuring the timely identification, capture, and mitigation of issues through the rigorous application of the PDCA framework.
    • Manage and drive the portfolio of strategic initiatives and PDCA actions, ensuring their timely execution and impact on overall target achievement.
  • Direct the automation and continuous improvement of KPIs, leveraging data analysis and programming expertise to enable next-level performance insights and efficiency.
  • Coordinate team of Lean Experts

  • Support creation of Communication Pack for Visitors (COO, SVP...)
  • Deputize Director Performance & Improvement during L1/L2/L3/L4/L5 performance review as needed


Your Boarding Pass:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Management is required.
  • 10+ years overall experience
  • 5+ years proven experience working in aircraft industry or manufacturing experience related to data analysis
  • Data analytics and Dashboard creation knowledge (e.g.: Skywise / Tableau / PowerBI / VBA)
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office and GSuite
  • Strong knowledge of LEAN, P&PM tools and techniques
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to galvanize a team to reach the goals
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills in math and science
  • Able to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision in order to meet deadlines

  • Interface with all levels of the Mobile FAL organization - this requires a clear understanding of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to write reports and present data to senior management

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft applications • Must demonstrate proficiency in project management tools
