Director of Nursing - SNF Leadership Opportunity

A skilled nursing facility in Rahway, New Jersey is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations and oversee the clinical performance of the facility.

This position is intended for a proven skilled nursing leader who understands New Jersey long-term care operations, survey readiness, staff leadership, clinical compliance, and resident care.

Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience working as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility in New Jersey.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the entire nursing department
  • Manage daily clinical operations within the skilled nursing facility
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain nursing leadership and clinical staff
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and nursing coverage
  • Oversee resident assessments, care plans, documentation, and clinical services
  • Monitor quality indicators, incidents, rehospitalizations, infections, and changes in resident condition
  • Maintain survey readiness and support compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Develop and implement plans of correction and quality improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team
  • Monitor nursing documentation and clinical practices for accuracy and compliance
  • Oversee infection prevention and control practices
  • Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability throughout the nursing department
  • Support staff education, competency, and ongoing clinical development
  • Maintain strong communication across nursing, rehabilitation, medical, and administrative teams
