The Director of Marketing & Events is a senior leadership role within the Marketing team. Reporting directly to the CMO and based in Austin,TX, this director-level position plays a critical role in shaping how Hanger shows up in the market, to drive brand awareness, deepen partner relationships, and deliver world-class experiences that advance business objectives. The ideal candidate is a seasoned, strategic leader who brings executive presence, strong commercial acumen, and a hands-on approach to delivering at scale.
Your Impact
Key Responsibilities
Event Strategy & Leadership
- Lead a cross-functional team assembled for Hanger LIVE, driving end-to-end execution through clear ownership, accountability, and leadership across workstreams
- Set the overarching vision and multi-year strategy for Hanger LIVE and the Global Partners Summit, aligned to Hanger's brand and growth objectives
- Lead all phases of event delivery, from strategic planning and budget ownership through to on-site execution and post-event analysis
- Establish frameworks, processes, and standards that ensure consistency, quality, and scalability across both event platforms
- Present event strategy, performance, and recommendations to the CMO and senior leadership team
- Create and lead operating mechanisms to drive ongoing progress for Global Partners Summit
Communications
- Work with internal and external communications teams to develop and oversee integrated, multi-channel communication strategies for both events, targeting internal teams, global partners, and external audiences
- Champion compelling, on-brand storytelling across all event touchpoints, from promotional campaigns and digital content to keynote messaging and partner briefings
- Serve as a senior communications lead for high-stakes partner and stakeholder interactions surrounding both events
Partner Engagement
- Serve as a senior relationship owner for Hanger's global partner network, cultivating meaningful partnerships that extend beyond individual events
- Define and lead a partner engagement strategy that maximizes participation, satisfaction, and long-term value from both Hanger LIVE and the Global Partners Summit
- Oversee the full partner journey from onboarding and briefings through to post-event follow-up and ongoing relationship management
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and develop a team of four National Events Specialists, providing strategic direction, day-to-day guidance, and ongoing coaching to drive performance an professional growth
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications leaders to integrate events into broader band and product marketing strategies, ensuring events reinforce go-to-market priorities and amplify campaign impact
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CMO, contributing to broader marketing planning and brand strategy
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure event programming is aligned with business needs
- Manage and oversee external agencies, production partners, and vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes within budget
Minimum Qualifications
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications with responsibility in event strategy and execution — with at least 3 years in a senior or director-level role
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale, global or flagship events with significant business impact
- Experience operating at an executive level, including presenting to and partnering with C-suite stakeholders
- Background in B2B, enterprise, or partner-led environments strongly preferred
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
