Faculty Practice Plan Services (FPPS) has an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Coding & Charge Capture.
WORK SCHEDULE
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Coding & Charge Capture has direct oversight and accountability for all aspects of the Department of Coding & Charge Capture.The Director of Coding & Charge Capture has overall responsibility for all staff within the Coding & Charge Capture Department and directly supervises the Manager, Coding & Charge Capture, Supervisors, Coding & Charge Capture and the Department Administrative Analyst.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide oversight and direction for the coding and charge capture department.
- Effectively coordinate and communicate operational activities and planning efforts within UWP and affected areas across UW Medicine.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, as necessary, to improve coding and charge capture performance and processes.
- Provide timely, accurate, and professional responses to questions and concerns from internal and external customers.
- Direct and support Managers of Coding & Charge Capture with carrying their responsibilities related to management of the daily operations of the Department
- Anticipate external and internal factors that require operational, system or personnel changes within assigned areas.
- Actively and continuously analyze workflows, organizational structure, staffing assignments or other factors to ensure optimal performance; make recommendations and modifications, as necessary.
- Direct or personally performs root-cause analysis to make performance improvement decisions and implement change.
- As a member of the senior management team, participate in the development of goals, objectives and tactical plans consistent with the organizational strategic plan and vision.
- Advance the organization’s ability to meet and exceed key strategic initiatives.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or healthcare.
- 7 years of progressive management experience in Coding and Charge Capture with at least 2 years at a senior level
- 3 years of experience in Professional Fee coding, preferably in an academic healthcare environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive organization performance improvement
- Experience working with a unionized workforce, strongly preferred
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Pay Range Minimum:
$165,000.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$225,000.00 annual
