As Director, Medical Advisor, you will lead a talented team at the intersection of medical, commercial, legal, and regulatory collaboration, helping shape how critical scientific information supports healthcare professionals and patients. Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Medical Advisor services across assigned brands, ensuring scientific excellence and consistent medical review standards.
  • Provide strategic medical guidance throughout promotional review activities within cross-functional review teams.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of Medical Advisor professionals.
  • Coach and mentor associates to support career growth, engagement, and professional development.
  • Drive operational excellence while maintaining high-quality service and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Partner across medical, legal, regulatory, and commercial functions to ensure compliant decision-making.
  • Champion responsible artificial intelligence adoption and continuous innovation within team workflows.


Essential Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy, Medical Doctor, or healthcare-related Doctor of Philosophy degree; equivalent industry experience considered.
  • Five or more years of pharmaceutical industry experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience working within Medical Information or Medical Affairs functions.
  • Proven people leadership experience with a track record of building high-performing teams.

Novartis Compensation Summary

The salary for this position is expected to range between $185,500 and $344,500 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
