Full Job Description
Your New Role: The Director, Linear Systems leads the design, delivery, and modernization of Warner Bros. Discovery’s Linear advertising platforms within the Converged Advertising and Linear Systems organization. This role is responsible for ensuring that linear ad-tech solutions — spanning planning, forecasting, order management, trafficking, and yield optimization — are scalable, reliable, and fully integrated with converged linear and digital workflows. Acting as a senior technical and delivery leader, the Director partners closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to translate business needs into durable system architectures. This role plays a critical part in modernizing legacy linear systems, improving operational efficiency, and enabling revenue growth across WBD’s global ad sales ecosystem. . Your Role Accountabilities: Linear Systems Architecture & Platform Ownership 3 Own the architecture and technical direction of WBD’s Linear advertising 3 systems. 3 Ensure interoperability across linear planning, forecasting, trafficking, billing, 3 and reporting platforms. 3 Define system roadmaps that balance stability, performance, and 3 modernization. Delivery Leadership & System Integration 3 Lead teams responsible for delivering and operating business-critical linear 3 ad-tech systems. 3 Oversee integrations between linear platforms and converged digital, identity, 3 data, and sales systems. 3 Ensure high availability, operational excellence, and predictable delivery 3 outcomes. Platform Modernization & Technical Excellence (20%) 3 Drive the evolution of legacy linear systems toward converged, agentic-driven, 3 and cloud-enabled architectures. 3 Implement standards for observability, security, compliance, and cost 3 management. 3 Reduce technical debt while maintaining continuity for revenue-critical 3 workflows. Stakeholder Partnership & Business Alignment 3 Partner with Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations to align system capabilities 3 with revenue and market priorities. 3 Serve as a senior technical advisor in leadership discussions related to linear 3 monetization and system investment. 3 Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to executive and non-technical audiences. Qualifications & Experience 3 Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or 3 related technical discipline required; advanced certifications in cloud/architecture 3 preferred. 3 Leadership: 15+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering or platform 3 delivery, with at least 5 years in technical leadership roles. 3 Linear Ad-Tech Expertise: Strong understanding of linear advertising systems 3 including planning, order management, trafficking, forecasting, yield, and reporting. 3 Architecture & Platforms: Experience designing and operating large-scale, 3 high-availability systems; cloud and API experience strongly preferred. 3 Modernization: Proven track record modernizing legacy systems while supporting 3 active business operations. 3 Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence outcomes across Product, Sales, Finance, and Engineering. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $177,170.00 - $329,030.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
