As Director, Legal Operations, you will serve as a central operational partner to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for department operations, financial management, outside counsel and vendor management, legal technology, reporting, process improvement, and project execution. The ideal candidate will be a commercially-minded, pragmatic business partner who can translate priorities into practical operating plans, manage cross-functional workstreams and use data to improve decision-making.

This is a hybrid role based in Camden, NJ.

What You Will Do...
  • Lead legal operations and department initiatives: Develop, own, and drive execution of the Legal Department's roadmap, including department planning, prioritization, project governance, process improvement, communications, knowledge management, change management, and Chief of Staff-type support for the Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
  • Manage legal technology and innovation: Oversee administration, adoption, and continuous improvement of legal technology and collaboration tools, including e-billing, document management, contract-related resources, reporting tools, and AI-enabled solutions; partner with IT and vendors on implementations, upgrades, training, and change management.
  • Oversee financial operations and reporting: Coordinate annual budget development, forecasting, legal spend reporting, accruals, reserve coordination, and other financial processes in partnership with Finance; develop practical dashboards and metrics to support timely decisions.
  • Manage outside counsel, ALSPs, and other vendors: Support high-quality, cost-effective legal services through rate negotiations, engagement terms, alternative fee arrangements, RFPs, statements of work, onboarding, performance tracking, and relationship management for outside counsel, ALSPs, and other legal vendors.
  • Improve processes, controls, and knowledge management: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or automate legal work and administrative processes; develop playbooks, templates, workflows, and user guidance that improve consistency, preserve institutional knowledge, and reduce friction for attorneys and business partners.
  • Provide analytics and leadership support: Analyze matter, spend, vendor, staffing, technology, and operational data to identify trends, risks, cost-saving opportunities, and service delivery improvements; prepare concise, executive-ready materials for senior leaders and support additional Legal Department operational matters as directed.
