JOB DESCRIPTION
Baptist Server Services Manager in this scope is responsible for overseeing a broad range of enterprise IT infrastructure, includingVMware virtualization, Windows and Linux server environments, SQL database administration, and Cisco UCS hardware. The role blends systems administration, database management, and networking to ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical systems
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Virtualization
- ManageVMware vSphere/ESXienvironments, including VM creation, cloning, templates, vMotion, Storage vMotion, HA, DRS, and cluster configurations
- Manage a team that Installs, configures, and maintainsCisco UCSservers, service profiles, and firmware upgrades
- Manage a team that performs server consolidations using VMware Converter (P2V/P2P) and patch management via VMware Update Manager
- Manage the deployment and configuration ofvCenterand related tools (e.g., vSphere Replication, SRM) for disaster recovery
Operating Systems
- Manage the team that AdministersWindows Server(2016/2019/2022/2025) andLinux/UNIXsystems, including OS installation, patching, and performance tuning
- Manage the team that maintainsActive Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and other Windows services
- Manage the team that installs and configuresRed Hat Linux/UNIXin both physical and virtual environments
Database Administration
- ManageSQL Server(2016/2019) in clustered and standalone environments, including backup/restore, performance tuning, and query optimization
- Implement and maintain SQL coding standards, naming conventions, and data access policies
- Troubleshoot and resolve SQL performance issues, including index and statistics optimization
Storage
- ManageSAN/NASenvironments (e.g., EMC, NetApp, PURE) for storage provisioning and performance
- Monitor and maintain server/storage plaform security and traffic utilization
Support & Operations
- Troubleshoot end-user and system issues, including incident ticket resolution and after-hours support
- Create and maintain SOPs, documentation, and service requests for hardware/software purchasesrelated to servers, storage, and data center
- Interface with vendors and clients to resolve issues and meet expectations
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree inComputer Science, IT, or related field(or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as aSystem Administratorwith VMware, Windows, Linux, SQL, and Cisco UCS
- 7+ years in related roles within large enterprise IT environments.
Technical Skills
- VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS, SRM, vSphere Replication
- Cisco UCS Manager, UCS Central, service profile management
- Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS
- Linux/UNIX administration, shell scripting, automation (PowerShell, VBScript)
- SQL Server administration, clustering, backup/restore, performance tuning
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- SAN/NAS storage management
Soft Skills

Certifications (commonly desired)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
