What is the opportunity?

Lead data-driven transformation within RBC's Identity & Access Management function. As Director Identity Intelligence (Global Security), you'll bridge strategy and execution by translating complex IAM goals into measurable, actionable insights. You'll manage a portfolio of high-impact data initiatives that directly shape IAM's strategic direction and security posture. This role demands someone with both strong IAM domain expertise and project leadership capability - someone who can speak the language of both security architects and data scientists. What will you do?
  • Manage and prioritize a portfolio of IAM data projects and initiatives, ensuring they directly support strategic IAM objectives and deliver measurable business outcomes
  • Design and operate centralized analytics platforms and automation frameworks that serve as the backbone for IAM reporting, analysis, and operational workflows across the enterprise
  • Develop comprehensive KPI and KRI frameworks (including dashboards, metrics, and visualizations) that provide visibility into IAM controls, identify gaps, and highlight patterns and anomalies
  • Translate IAM strategic goals, entitlement rationalization, access governance, compliance metrics) into data requirements and intelligence frameworks that enable informed decision-making
  • Establish and oversee data governance processes ensuring IAM data quality, integrity, and traceability from source systems through centralized repositories to downstream reporting
  • Identify and propose process improvements and alternative solutions that streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and generate significant operational savings
  • Collaborate with IAM architects, engineers, operations teams, and business stakeholders to translate technical requirements into scalable data intelligence solutions
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert and strategic advisor on IAM analytics and intelligence initiatives
  • Mentor and guide technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams on IAM analytics best practices, data interpretation, and insights utilization to drive informed decision-making
  • Communicate analytics findings, trends, and recommendations to senior IAM leadership and business stakeholders, translating complex data insights into actionable strategic guidance
  • Validate and monitor IAM control effectiveness through data analytics, identifying control gaps and recommending remediation strategies


What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:
  • 7+ years of hands-on IAM experience (identity governance, access management, entitlement management, or IAM architecture)
  • 5+ years of data analysis and solution design experience delivering enterprise-scale analytics initiatives
  • Deep knowledge of IAM concepts, processes, and challenges (access certification, provisioning/deprovisioning, role management, compliance)
  • Proven track record designing and implementing scalable analytics platforms or solutions that support enterprise-wide operational needs
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into measurable outcomes and communicate impact to senior stakeholders
  • Working proficiency in SQL for querying, analyzing, and validating IAM datasets and supporting testing/validation work
  • Demonstrated technical leadership; ability to drive innovation and influence stakeholders across organizational boundaries

Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience working with IAM tools (eg. Sailpoint, Cyberark/Indira)
  • Proficiency in Python for data validation, testing automation, or analytics support tasks
  • Background designing and deploying dashboards, data visualization tools, or business intelligence solutions
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and enterprise data quality management standards
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) or optimization initiatives
  • Knowledge of logical access control principles and regulatory compliance frameworks
