Position summaryReporting to the CEO, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing and providing strategic direction in the overall human resources function of MSF.
Job responsibilities - Provide HR leadership to the organization and develop, implement and align HR programs and practices to address strategic business needs.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and programs covering areas of labour relations, performance management, compensation, and attraction and retention of talented employees.
- Oversee and support the organization's performance management program, including coaching, development, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide direction and assistance in recruitment requirements throughout the organization.
- Identify employee development needs and establish training plans and resource requirements.
- Conduct meetings and orientation sessions for the purpose of introducing efficient HR policies and communicating new/streamlined practices.
- Manage and streamline employee benefits programs.
- Provide advice, coaching and support to Managers and Supervisors in HR matters.
- Participate in labour management meetings, union grievance meetings, and union negotiation meetings.
- Regular participation in Standing Committee meetings, with attendance at Board meetings as required.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CHRL designation or equivalent professional credential.
- Over 8+ years' human resources management experience, preferably in a management or lead role.
- Overall knowledge of efficient human resources management, including staffing, compensation, labour relations, and performance management.
- Strong organizational, leadership and supervisory skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain trusting working relationship with stakeholders.
- Ability and flexibility to thrive in a high stress environment, with frequent and competing deadlines, multiple tasks and high performance expectations.
- Experience in unionized work environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Chinese and English, both orally and in writing.
- Valid driver's license with access to vehicle.
Salary Range: $100,000 to $130,000 / year
