In this role, you will lead the development and execution of the Group Insurance data strategy, shaping how data is leveraged to drive business growth, improve client outcomes, and inform decision-making across the organization. As a key partner to senior leadership, you will advance analytics capabilities by delivering impactful reporting, business intelligence, and predictive insights that support operational, financial, and strategic priorities.
You will serve as the data leader for the Group Insurance business, fostering strong collaboration across teams while ensuring robust data governance and quality practices. Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
What you'll do:- Lead the development and execution of the Group Insurance data strategy and roadmap
- Deliver reporting, BI, automation, and self-serve analytics solutions using enterprise tools
- Build predictive analytics capabilities in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Act as a data subject matter expert, bridging business and technology to drive insights
- Partner with enterprise teams to ensure strong data governance, quality, and management practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive adoption of data solutions and support decision-making
- Define and track performance metrics to measure effectiveness and inform leadership
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing data and analytics team
- Identify and mitigate operational and data risks
What you'll bring:- 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business insights, or data science, including leadership roles
- Strong expertise in data management, modelling, and BI tools (Power BI, SQL, advanced Excel)
- Experience with data governance, quality frameworks, and enterprise data environments
- Poven ability to lead teams and deliver complex, cross-functional data initiatives
- Experience with predictive analytics; knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python) is an asset
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
- Group Insurance industry experience is an asset

Your base pay will be based on your skills, qualifications, experience and education. In addition to your salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award tied to business performance, plus a wide range of competitive benefits.
