Job DescriptionPosition OverviewHologic is seeking a Director of Government Affairs to serve as a key leader within the company's Government Affairs Department. Reporting to the Senior Director of Government Affairs, the ideal candidate will be a strategic professional with deep healthcare policy expertise, have a strong mission-driven mindset, and be skilled in navigating and shaping the legislative and regulatory landscape.
The successful candidate will be highly visible internally and externally and will make meaningful contributions to Hologic's partnership development, federal lobbying, and advocacy strategies, with lobbying as a key function of the role in driving and advancing Hologic's overall policy priorities.
Position Duties and Responsibilities- Promote Hologic as a worldwide leader in women's health in relevant policy, patient advocacy, and healthcare circles.
- Manage strategies and activities related to federal legislation, public programs, and executive branch affairs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant legislative and executive branch officials, patient and disease groups, industry trade associations, and industry stakeholders in support of Hologic public policy priorities.
- Coordinate internally with cross-functional teams including market access, commercial, legal, and regulatory to identify opportunities to elevate Hologic and advance company priorities. Contribute to the formation and execution of Hologic policy agenda, stakeholder outreach and development and advocacy strategies.
- Represent Hologic in trade associations, coalitions, patient advocacy organizations, and industry groups to advance company priorities and help shape coordinated Congressional and state advocacy efforts.
- Direct contract lobbyists in support of Hologic's advocacy objectives.
Essential Qualifications- 8 -10 years of relevant U.S. Congressional and/or executive branch agency experience or as a government affairs professional in a healthcare company, trade association or consultancy.
- A passion for women's health and commitment to reducing barriers to access to care.
- Experience with Congressional Committees and federal agencies with jurisdiction over healthcare.
- Strong connections across Republican Congressional offices, committees, the Administration, and affiliated organizations.
- Exhibits a high degree of initiative and self-direction, with proven effectiveness in both independent and team-based settings.
- Proven track record advancing strategic end-to-end advocacy campaigns, working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and managing political risk.
- Excels in written and verbal communication, with a crisp, clear style that effectively influences senior executives while building authentic connections with stakeholders at all levels.
Education- Bachelor's degree, Masters preferred
The annualized base salary range for this role is $163,400- $250,600 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
