Purpose
The Director, Product Management, Working Capital Solutions is accountable for leading the global strategy, development, commercialization, and performance of Working Capital Solutions across Global Transaction Banking. The role drives profitable growth, market competitiveness, client-centric innovation, risk discipline, and operational scalability across GBM, Canadian Commercial Banking, and International Banking, while ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, procedures, and the Bank's risk appetite.

What You'll Do:
  • Leads and drives a customer-focused culture within the team to deepen client relationships, leverage the wider Bank's relationships, systems, and knowledge, and deliver a consistent global client experience.
  • Sets the overarching strategy, product roadmap, lifecycle management approach, and commercialization priorities for existing and new Working Capital Solutions, including supply chain finance, receivables finance, payables finance, factoring, and related structured working capital capabilities.
  • Owns portfolio performance, pricing, profitability, revenue growth, asset growth, return management, and market competitiveness, using data, MIS, market intelligence, and client feedback to inform product strategy and prioritization.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Coverage, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology, Treasury, Finance, and regional business partners to deliver client-centric, scalable, and profitable products aligned with broader Global Transaction Banking strategies.
  • Leads modernization of working capital platforms and capabilities, including digital enablement, process automation, partner/vendor solutions, and enhancements that improve client experience, operational efficiency, scalability, and control.
  • Formulates and directs strategies to retain and expand existing relationships, attract new business, increase capacity, enhance client service, streamline processes, improve customer profitability, and generate segment-specific management information system (MIS) reporting as required by the business and management.
  • Ensures the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture are embedded in day-to-day activities and decisions, with appropriate governance over credit, operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, conduct, third-party/vendor, and reputational risk.
  • Creates an environment where the team pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of daily business controls.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the team by fostering an inclusive work environment, applying a coaching mindset, communicating vision and strategy, and managing succession and development planning.


What You'll Bring:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Trade, Supply Chain Finance, Working Capital Solutions, or Global Transaction Banking, with a strong focus on product development, product management, technology enablement, and commercialization.
  • Expert knowledge of transactional services products, including payments, cash management, traditional trade, supply chain finance, receivables finance, payables finance, factoring, and structured working capital solutions.
  • Proven experience managing product strategy, product roadmap, pricing, profitability, portfolio performance, business cases, and go-to-market execution.
  • Solid knowledge of insurance-related solutions and providers, including EDC (Export Development Canada), as well as credit risk mitigation structures relevant to working capital solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Scotiabank's group of companies' infrastructure, product and service specialist areas, client segments, operating model, and global footprint.
  • Strong understanding of credit, operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, conduct, third-party/vendor, and reputational risks relevant to Working Capital Solutions.
  • Highly developed product development, commercialization, stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional change, platform delivery, process automation, or product modernization initiatives is considered an asset.
  • Solid computer literacy and proficiency with software applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills, with a track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Bachelor of Commerce required; a graduate degree (MBA, CA, CFA) is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish language capability is strongly preferred given the global and regional scope of the portfolio.


Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a standard office-based environment, with flexibility to support global stakeholders across time zones.
  • Non-standard working hours may be required to support business priorities, senior stakeholder engagement, and cross-regional collaboration.
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required.
