Job Overview

The Director, Enterprise Vendor Management will lead the development and execution of enterprise vendor management capabilities at General Mills. This role will establish effective processes, standards, and governance for managing third-party relationships and will help drive supplier performance, risk management, compliance, and value creation across the company.

The Director will partner with leaders across Sourcing, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Digital & Technology, and other functions to promote consistent vendor management practices and strengthen the company's approach to vendor lifecycle management. This role will also lead and develop a team and serve as a senior advisor on vendor management matters.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Enterprise Vendor Management
  • Develop and implement an enterprise vendor management strategy, operating model, and governance framework.
  • Establish processes, standards, and tools for effective vendor lifecycle management.
  • Lead, develop, and build capability within the vendor management team.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align vendor management with sourcing, contracting, procurement, and business requirements.
  • Use data, analytics, and automation to improve vendor visibility, decision-making, and operational effectiveness.


Manage Vendor Performance and Risk
  • Partner with Category Managers and business stakeholders to support preferred supplier strategies and performance expectations.
  • Establish and maintain a vendor performance management framework, including business reviews, scorecards, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitor vendor risk, compliance, and governance requirements and support appropriate mitigation activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance, service, cost effectiveness, and business continuity.
  • Provide leadership on vendor-related issues and ensure appropriate escalation and resolution.


Provide Enterprise Stakeholder Leadership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and cross-functional teams on vendor management practices and priorities.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and influence the adoption of consistent vendor management processes.
  • Communicate vendor performance, risk, and opportunity insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent enterprise vendor management in governance forums and cross-functional initiatives.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ten or more years of progressive experience in vendor management, supplier management, sourcing, procurement, or a related field.
  • Experience developing, leading, or transforming an enterprise vendor or supplier management capability.
  • Knowledge of vendor performance management, supplier governance, sourcing, procurement, and contract lifecycle principles.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and executive influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to assess and communicate business value.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, including global or matrixed teams.
  • Demonstrated change-leadership and the ability to drive adoption of new processes and ways of working in a complex organization.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a large consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, or consumer products company.
  • Familiarity with vendor management platforms, spend analytics, catalog management tools, or contract lifecycle management technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise transformation, capability development, or operating model design.
  • Experience working with external consulting or service providers on business transformation or capability development initiatives.


SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is:
$176 100 - $264 300 Annual
