The Director, ePMO leads enterprise portfolio governance, project delivery, and value realization across Smithfield. This role heads the ePMO, assuming full accountability for enterprise-wide project and program management.

The Director ensures strategic initiatives are executed with discipline, transparency, and alignment to business priorities. Partnering with IT, business leaders, Finance, and the Investment Committee, this leader drives prioritization, execution excellence, and measurable, business driven outcomes. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, the Director champions disciplined investment management and ensures that enterprise initiatives consistently deliver meaningful value.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Enterprise ePMO Leadership & Strategy
  • Serve as the single accountable leader for the Enterprise PMO, owning strategy, operating model, and outcomes
  • Define and continuously mature Smithfield's enterprise project and portfolio management framework
  • Position the ePMO as a value-driven, execution-focused function aligned to enterprise priorities


Portfolio Governance, Investment & Prioritization
  • Own enterprise intake, prioritization, and governance for initiatives requiring executive visibility or funding
  • Partner with IT and Finance to support capital planning, investment trade-offs, and prioritization decisions
  • Ensure alignment of initiatives to strategic objectives, capacity, and funding constraints


Delivery Oversight, Execution Excellence & Risk Management
  • Provide executive oversight of complex, cross-functional programs and initiatives
  • Ensure consistent application of standards, methodologies, and tools across the enterprise
  • Identify and manage risks, interdependencies, and execution issues, driving timely mitigation and escalation


Executive Reporting, Transparency & Insights
  • Deliver clear, data-driven reporting on portfolio health, financials, risks, and value realization
  • Enable leadership with visibility into progress, outcomes, and trade-offs for decision-making
  • Maintain enterprise dashboards and metrics reflecting delivery performance and value delivered


People Leadership & Capability Development
  • Leadership: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.
  • Coach leaders and practitioners to elevate execution maturity across the enterprise
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results-oriented delivery


Continuous Improvement & Operational Enablement
  • Simplify and optimize governance and delivery processes
  • Balance rigor with agility to meet business needs without unnecessary overhead
  • Continuously evolve the ePMO to support changing enterprise priorities


WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 10+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Leadership: 5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development.
  • Enterprise Portfolio Leadership: Proven experience leading enterprise portfolio governance and execution of complex initiatives
  • Executive Influence: Strong executive presence with ability to advise senior leaders and steering committees
  • Financial & Business Acumen: Demonstrated financial and business acumen, including capital planning and value realization


OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
  • Enterprise PMO Leadership Experience: Experience leading an IT-centric or enterprise PMO in a large, complex organization
  • Portfolio & Investment Expertise: Strong understanding of portfolio prioritization, resource planning, and governance
  • PPM Tools & Systems: Experience with enterprise PPM tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Planview, ServiceNow)
  • Certifications: PMP, PgMP, PMI PMOCP, SAFe, or similar credentials
The expected pay range for this position is $160,000 - $202,500 annually.
Smithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate's qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.
