Enterprise Data Management & Products (EDMP), a key part of our Technology organization, focuses on delivering data products that fuel business growth and unlock value, while also shaping robust data management strategies and governance solutions. How will you make an impact in this role?

This position sits within Customer 360, which is a part of the broader Enterprise Data Management and Product (EDMP) organization. The team is focused on enabling the best customer experience every day through a differentiated set of products and services. A key part to accomplishing this vision is knowing your customers (individuals or businesses) and having a holistic understanding of that customer.

Customer 360 is an AXP-wide capability that provides a global enterprise view of entities (that have or had an American Express relationship with at least one product or service globally), comprehensive insights, and linkages for consumer, merchant, and commercial. This will fundamentally reshape our ecosystem and the way we engage with our customers by leveraging Amex internal/external data assets, world-class machine learning algorithms, and Big Data environment.

We seek an experienced thought-leader and problem-solver to serve as Director - Finance & Regulatory reporting enablement to help define and oversee the vision and strategic priorities for our offerings across Finance & Regulatory reporting use cases. At Customer 360, you and your team of product owners and analysts would be focused on managing, delivering, and enhancing microservices based core Customer 360 platform.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with various Finance & CFR strategy partners for implementation of demographic data and linkages via C360 to enable regulatory use cases
  • Partner with Finance & CFR partners globally and lead the development of key linkage capabilities around Legal Entity Views of Business (Counterparty ID, Obligor ID, Business ID etc.)
  • Partner with Data Governance, Control Management and Data Offices across Business Units to implement AEMP compliant data controls and manual review procedures ensuring
  • Partner with Data Management, Data Quality and Data Science teams of C360 to build additional controls and framework for continuous improvement of demographic data and linkages
  • availability, completeness and accuracy of demographic data & linkages
  • Leading, mentoring and building a highly performing and engaged team with diverse talent
  • Identifying opportunities and driving product strategy, roadmap, and features
  • Managing the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution
  • Prioritizing engineering work and balancing the requirements of customers and stakeholders.
  • Enabling analytics-driven decision making to evolve products and usage.
  • Evangelizing the product both internally and externally and shepherding products through the development process, advocating to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Interacting with partners to identify needs, opportunities, and gaps, and solve problems.
  • Brainstorming and negotiating effectively with various stakeholders to continuously define feature priority.
  • Helping your team develop products by making difficult tradeoffs and removing roadblocks.
  • Establishing the product's goals and reviewing success metrics to achieve commercial success.
  • Agile mindset and transformation champion.


Qualifications

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in owning, managing leading products or platforms
  • Good understanding of Finance & Regulatory landscape & strategies will be a big plus.
  • Good understanding of CFR Commercial processes & strategies and GCS Business (Small Business, Corporate, Merchant, Banking etc.) will be a big plus
  • Strong people leader with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence partners
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and change management skills.
  • Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Passion for excellence in people, processes and products and strong understanding of Product Management
  • Experience in managing partnerships and colleagues across geographies; ability to build strong relationships with internal / external business partners across various locations globally
  • Demonstrated success in leading large, fast-paced and highly complex projects, including architecture transformations, product launches and use case enablement efforts
  • Ability to prioritize work across the team to maximize efforts that will drive greatest outcomes for the business; defends MVP principles and drive hypotheses and learnings
