Overview

The Director, Data Architecture for Crocs, Inc. is responsible for bringing an enterprise architecture perspective to data decisions and solutions across Crocs. Working closely with Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, business stakeholders, and analytics teams, this role helps ensure data solutions support business objectives while balancing speed of execution with long-term scalability, sustainability, simplicity, and reuse. The Director provides architectural leadership across the Enterprise Data organization, with particular focus on enterprise information and domain architecture, cross-domain design patterns, and architecture governance.

What You'll Do

  • Partners with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and technology teams to bring an architectural perspective to data decisions and develop approaches that drive measurable business value.
  • Define and evolve enterprise data architecture in collaboration with Business Intelligence and Data Engineering leaders, balancing the ability to execute efficiently today with long-term scalability, maintainability, flexibility, and reuse.
  • Shape enterprise information and domain architecture standards, including cross-domain design patterns and shared approaches that promote consistency, interoperability, and effective use of data across Crocs.
  • Partner with the Director of Business Intelligence to ensure enterprise data solutions effectively support reporting, analytics, self-service, and evolving business requirements.
  • Partner with the Director of Data Engineering on platform and solution architecture, combining architectural and engineering perspectives to develop approaches that are practical, scalable, sustainable, and aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Establish and facilitate enterprise data architecture governance, including an Architecture Review Board that surfaces conflicts and tradeoffs, builds alignment, and enables decisions for significant data, analytics, and platform initiatives.
  • Partners across the Enterprise Data organization to simplify the data ecosystem, improve interoperability, and accelerate business value through better architectural decisions.


What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 8+ years of experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures, data platforms, analytics ecosystems, or data-intensive solutions.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture concepts, including information and domain architecture, data modeling, integration approaches, governance, metadata, and analytics enablement.
  • Proven ability to solve complex business problems through thoughtful data and technology solution design.
  • Experience balancing execution speed and near-term needs with long-term architectural sustainability, scalability, flexibility, and maintainability.
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills, with experience partnering across engineering, analytics, business, and technology teams to shape decisions and build alignment.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and decision-making skills, including the ability to surface tradeoffs, navigate conflict, and guide architectural discussions across diverse stakeholders.

Title: Director, Data Architecture

Salary or Pay Range: $180,000 - $200,000

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.

Your participation in this flexible schedule plays a key role in building a connected and successful team. In-office requirements vary by our work personas: Resident (5 days), Collaborator (4 days), Connector (2-3 days), Explorer (fully remote). This role has been aligned to the Explorer persona.
