Work Location : US - Atlanta, GA Type of Post : Not Applicable Other Possible Location : Funding : APPROVED Expected Travel : up to 20% Type of Contract : Language Requirement : English Application Deadline : Employee Duration : Full-Time Pay Range Details $109,139.97 - $152,250.26 Annually USA Grade D JOB SUMMARY: Join the CARE Marketing team, in this newly created role as Director of Content Development exclusively supporting the Resource Development teams to create compelling, donor-ready content required to power sustainable growth toward our organization's fundraising ambition. The Director will be responsible for building and running a high-performing content production engine leading workflow design, project intake, editorial quality, and resource allocation across a team of senior writers, ensuring consistent, on-time delivery of high-impact proposals and donor communications that is delivered with consistency, speed, and impact across all fundraising channels. This role will build the systems, workflows, and team performance needed to meet ambitious goals, including faster crisis response, higher-quality outputs, and better alignment to revenue priorities. As a key thought partner and producer with all the resource development senior leaders, this role is pivotal to strengthening our narrative storytelling for donors to help meet our revenue goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: Content Operations & Workflow Management - Design and manage end-to-end content production workflows from intake to delivery and develop prioritization systems to identify competing proposals and donor need - Coordinate with strategy leads to translate plans into content materials such as proposals, reports, briefings, donor email updates, briefings, and other key materials. - Establish clear timelines, milestones, and accountability structures to manage processes that increase speed and consistency of materials delivered. - Build and manage a rapid-response content production model to ensure readiness to deploy full content packages within 24-48 hours Project Intake & Resource Allocation - Serve as the central intake point for all content requests and triage and assign projects based on urgency, complexity, and revenue potential - Support monthly content performance and pipeline visibility - Align writer capacity to highest-value opportunities - Partner with fundraising leads to clarify scope and deliverables - Ensure alignment across all funding channels (individual, corporate, foundation, government) by serving as a collaborative, accessible, and thinking partner - Create clear intake discipline to eliminate inconsistent engagement across teams - Create clear intake discipline to eliminate inconsistent engagement across teams Editorial Direction & Content Tools - Provide high-level editing and narrative shaping across key deliverables - Ensure consistency in tone, structure, donor positioning and elevate clarity, persuasiveness, and impact framing across outputs - Enforce plain language, clarity, and compelling storytelling standards and ensure all outputs reflect distinctive CARE positioning - Build and maintain editorial guidelines and messaging frameworks - Operationalize the quarterly content calendar and introduce AI tools and workflows to increase speed and scale - Oversee management of RD content libraries, data repositories, and reusable assets to ensure writers have ready access to evidence, stats, and program inputs Team Management - Lead and manage a team of senior writers as a production unit - Set clear output expectations, performance metrics, and feedback loops - Coach writers on efficiency, structure, and donor-centered storytelling Back to Site
