Job SummaryResponsible for the leadership, oversight, and strategic direction of community-based and secure care youth justice services, including prevention, intervention, programming, and operations. Leads and supports children integration efforts across DHHS and leads efforts to support DHHS mission and vision, outreach strategies, work culture enhancement, and internal communication and consensus-building.
Job Responsibilities- Community-based Services and Programming - Responsible for high quality, equitable services for youth and families, including community violence interruption, interventions and prevention; interventions for justice involved youth in community and secure care; ensure compliance with State of Wisconsin youth justice standards.
- Support Children's System of Care and Continuum of Youth Justice System - Lead, identify, and execute new business opportunities on behalf of Children, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) to build out the continuum of care across the youth justice system. Maximize existing revenue streams and oversee the operational functions that strengthen service delivery.
- Represent DHHS within Community Spaces - Serve as a representative in the community. Communicate key information to youth justice stakeholders such as the courts, advocates, consumers and families, board members, service providers, child welfare staff, law enforcement and schools.
- Collaborate with CYFS and DHHS Leadership - Work collaboratively with Administrator and Deputy Administrator, management, and leadership while serving as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, and achieve effective utilization. Strive to achieve quality goals and objectives while following the department's vision and mission.
- Youth Justice Committees and Initiatives - Lead and support key committees and initiatives related to practice improvements, system reform, policy development, data collection, and other initiatives key to the effective operations of CYFS.
- Quality and Compliance of Projects, Services and Agreements - Lead key internal and community initiatives; strategize oversight and performance-driven operational leadership; coordinate major initiatives and resolution of operational barriers.
- Ability to lift, carry up to 10 lbs.; push and pull up to 25 lbs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences- Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License required and must be maintained throughout incumbency
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Social Work or closely related field required
- Three (3) years or more of work experience in Youth Justice, Human Services or Social Work required
- Three (3) years or more of work experience in a Management or Director role required
- Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required
Preferred Education, License/Certification and Experiences- Master's degree or higher preferred
