Job Description:

The Opportunity

We're looking for a leader to join our Directors team with a focus on programmatic retail media, anchored in Amazon DSP. This person will drive team development, client retention and growth, and the continued expansion of Flywheel as the leading Digital Commerce solution. The role requires deep, hands-on Amazon DSP experience across the full funnel, from awareness and video through consideration and retargeting, using Amazon's first-party shopping signals. It also requires strong people leadership skills and a passion for partnering with clients at the executive level, from new business acquisition through ongoing growth.

This role will work alongside the Commerce Leadership team to connect programmatic strategy with retail search, retail operations and the broader media mix. We need someone self-motivated, collaborative and results-oriented, working against expectations set by executive management. The goal is to grow our clients' businesses through programmatic and integrated commerce media, retain and expand client relationships, and build a high-performing team.

What You Will Do

  • Own the strategic direction of Amazon DSP programs across your client portfolio. That covers full-funnel campaign architecture, audience strategy (Amazon audiences, lookalikes, in-market, lifestyle and custom AMC audiences), inventory and supply strategy, creative formats, and budget allocation.
  • Plan and activate across Amazon's owned and operated inventory (Prime Video, Fire TV, Twitch, IMDb, Amazon.com) and third-party supply, including streaming TV and online video.
  • Lead measurement and insights using Amazon Marketing Cloud, brand lift studies, path-to-conversion analysis and incrementality testing. Connect upper-funnel investment to downstream sales, new-to-brand customers and search performance.
  • Integrate DSP with Sponsored Ads and retail fundamentals so programmatic spend works alongside search, content, promotions and availability rather than in isolation.
  • Build and maintain strong executive client relationships that create long-term partnerships and referrals. Find ways to drive incremental value through programmatic, and create an environment where clients give candid feedback.
  • Oversee multiple client teams, guiding them to strong performance against client KPIs (ROAS, new-to-brand, incremental reach, detail page view rate, brand lift) and identifying and resolving client issues.
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue with existing clients, including expanding into streaming TV, offsite audiences, AMC-driven strategies and other retailer DSPs, in line with client objectives.
  • Help shape and scale Flywheel's programmatic practice, including methodology, AMC query libraries, tooling and automation, testing frameworks and best practices.
  • Stay ahead of changes in programmatic and retail media (signal loss and cookie deprecation, clean rooms, new Amazon inventory and formats, AI-driven optimization) and translate them into a point of view for clients and the team.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Flywheel, both internally through market insight and training, and externally through business development, conferences, webinars and industry groups.
  • Make sure the team has the training, resources and professional development they need to grow their programmatic expertise and deliver value to clients every day.
  • Maintain team morale and motivation in a hybrid work environment.
  • Continually improve the team's operating efficiency, balancing time spent against quality of delivery while protecting work/life balance.
  • Contribute to hiring, team structure and account resourcing decisions.
  • Travel as required based on client needs.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of digital media or eCommerce experience, with at least 5 years in programmatic, including significant hands-on Amazon DSP experience, at an agency, brand or retailer.
  • An expert in Amazon DSP. You know campaign setup and optimization, audience building, inventory and supply path decisions, frequency management, and creative formats including streaming TV and video.
  • Proficient with Amazon Marketing Cloud (SQL query writing or directing analysts who do), plus brand lift, incrementality and multi-touch measurement.
  • A solid understanding of how DSP interacts with Sponsored Ads and retail fundamentals to drive total sales on Amazon.
  • Experience with other DSPs (The Trade Desk, DV360) or retailer programmatic offerings (Walmart DSP, Instacart, Criteo) is an asset.
  • Proven track record of prioritizing in a fast-paced environment with competing internal and external demands.
  • Team management experience with demonstrated leadership, mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving and analytical skills, and comfort turning data into a clear story for executives.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing executive audiences.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Results-driven with a strong client focus.
  • Able to adapt quickly as platforms, retailers and the market change.
  • A bias for action, with the optimism and tenacity to push through barriers.
  • Proactive, independently motivated, intellectually curious and a quick learner.
